  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I've been working on a blog supporting the right to die, and am hoping to launch some activism from my blog in the foreseeable future (Starting with a petition). I thought that some of the members here might be quite interested. I've done articles on the right to die (more coming soon) and other pessimistic topics. I'm active on Reddit spreading the 'gospel' of the right to die under the same username with which I am registered here.

For anyone interested in my blog, please see here, and please register for email updates if you are interested in reading more: www.schopenhaueronmars.com

I think that those of us who support the right to die (which I assume will be most members here) need to start being vocal about demanding that our governments dismantle the impediments that prevent us from accessing safe and reliable suicide methods. However, because suicidal ideation is very stigmatised as being something that is only for "delusional mentally ill" people; we're all very understandably reluctant to be publicly identified as being suicidal. In my opinion, this new stigma is far more insidious and harmful than "suicide is selfish". It's one thing to be morally condemned for being suicidal; but being told that we're not even moral agents because we're mentally incompetent is much more insulting, much more damaging, and far harder to defend ourselves against. We need to start openly rejecting the stigma and being willing to fight our cause publicly. I hope to be part of galvanising that, through my work on the blog.

We need to be able to show that there are real rational, articulate and intelligent adults who covet this basic right to bodily autonomy, and that we can no longer be shamed or stigmatised into remaining silent.
