Ridiculous Accident

Typing this with my left thumb.
Will have to be short.
Of all the safe things to be doing in life,I decided to go to bed extremely early.
The room is dark because of blackout curtains.
Thought I was standing to the side,fairly in the middle of the length. I suppose I moved in to collapse onto it.
I'd misjudged where I was,ended up falling at the end then possibly fracturing my wrist or something.
Waiting for a phone assessment.
All I know is the whole forearm is damned painful and I can't do anything with that hand now.

I am so mad at myself. Just wanted to let y'all know,incase I'm m i.a for a while.
Lefthand thumb-typing just ain't as fast as right index finger

This had better not derail my plans for the weekend.

Finally at minor injuries unit,but x-ray dept is closed now.
I flippni' hope I won't need to go to a proper hospital miles away.
Put my wrist in a splint and told me to come back at 9.00am for an x-ray.
So,I'm still none the wiser as to what I've done.
Forearm and hand is swollen like crazy with lumps and bumps.
111 does the referrals now,
but the receptionist said 111 didn't even email them,so I was lucky they let me see anyone at all.
Walking home now.

Must try to answer some proper forum stuff now

I was gluing a vase for my mom a few yrs ago with Crazy Glue. The spout was stuck, so I forcefully squeezed it. The spout unclogged causing the CRAZY Glue to backfire RIGHT INTO MY EYE!..Extreeeeeeeemely painful!..Scratched cornea...Dark room, eye shut for 3 days...smdh

To this day, I wear shades or protective goggles if I'm gonna use Crazy Glue..lol

Now, go treat yourself to something delish ...♡♡♡

Actually, even years lata, every once in a while I wake up with pain in that eye, hurts to the touch, n have to do a week course of my ophtho drops n ointment.. ...

But I'm thankful that I didn't lose my vision..

Lol nope. I have a high threshold for pain,so,the fact it's hurting so much,in the wrist and all up the forearm ain't a good sign.

Oh,poor eye. At least it lets you know when it needs tlc,too. Was/is your vision affected at all?
What does the ointment treat? The cornea that was scratched?

Damn man that sucks, wrists and ankles are the worst it affects almost everything we use them for lol, hopefully it's just a hairline fracture and not proper broke. I had to get pins in mine when it broke, but it poked out the skin (compound) so you should be alright with a cast and proper setting. Try getting something for the pain or at least sleep, I hate it when you have to stay overnight.
Anyway stay safe man and update if you can! :)

Didn't sleep because it hurts like a mo-fo.

lol I had a humiliating acciendent recently, I was making tea, went to put the milk in and split most of the scalding liquid into my socks, which just made it worse, I ripped them off and had to deal with a £2 coin times two diameter 2nd degree burn, it's been 4 weeks and it about the size of a £2 coin now, with a hellova scab. Oh and local hospitals are shut due to covid lol, I called 111 and they immediately sent some antibiotics for the infection, and dressings so it didn't tear off the top layer of skin. The whole healthcare system is in a mess right now

That is baaaaad.... I once had a scratched cornea. It lasted for a week and was agony. Worse than 3 c sections. I didn't know what to do with myself but at least it wasn't glued shut lol

Sorry,for interruption was finally called. They took a few x-rays. The guy could see them,wouldn't tell me what the result was. Have to wait in minor injuries dept to hear. Arm massively swollen.

It's a collies fracture (distal radius fracture)
Being put in plaster cast now. Oh fxk they're gonna manipulate it
Would not let me photograph x-ray.
They put plaster on. Now I gotta have another x-ray. May need to go to fracture clinic.
