I think I already know the answer since I heard about this story on TV! Don't remember if it was a real story or just an urban legend but very interesting :D
They suck up water from the sea to fight the forest fire. He got sucked up with the water into the plane/helicopter and dropped into the forest. The impact killed him.

Along the right lines.
The ice in the iced tea was poisoned. Both had ice but because the wife drank hers fast, it didn't give enough time for the ice to melt into the drink.
The husband drank his slowly so the ice had melted and it therefore poisoned him.

I heard this one years ago and spent two hours asking questions before I figured it out. Assuming it's the same one, it involves a shipwreck, cannibalism of the man's wife after being told it was duck, ordering duck at the restaurant, eating the duck and realizing it didn't taste the same, realizing what (who) he had actually eaten while stranded after the shipwreck, and then killing himself out of abject horror?
