  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

At risk of sounding childish, Do you think there's even the slightest chance that we'll be reunited with our loved ones on the other side? And if so if there's someone you're looking forward to seeing and hugging again?
My thoughts are: yes, however the possibilities of that being true are most likely slim to none.
Don't ask me why this matters.

Don't think so. If there's an afterlife, imagine how crowded it would be considering how many not just humans, but living being have passed away since the very inception of life.
It'd be an incredily crowded place. I had trouble finding my mother in a crowded supermarket, let alone finding my dead grandparents in a place with bilions of humans and who knows how many other creatures, including dinosaurs.

The closest thing to an afterlife I could believe in is reincarnation.

I'm really not sure but it is something I have been thinking about a lot. I lean toward no but secretly hope there is.

Whether or not it is a physical place or a simulation, I couldn't tell you but I like the idea of meeting a few departed folks and waiting up there (hopefully for a long time) for some of the folks down here.

There is one in particular that I'd love to throw my arms round and give a big cuddle.

Of course there is a chance.

For years I've dismissed near death experiences as the being someone who is in trauma and who is simply reflecting on their psyche.

While I don't believe every experience that I hear about; it's obvious some were hallucinating, some claim to have been "touched by the divine" and then used their "experience" to promote very expensive and profitable "psychic medium" services or they were very much primed, from a psychological perspective, to have a "mystical experience".

But these experiences come from all over the world, they came from the devoutly religious, they come atheists, they come from average blue collar workers, they come from physicians, they come from scientists and on and on and on.

Even the people who had frightening or hellish experiences eventually made it to the light we hear so much about and they have their reunions with deceased loved ones (and even with deceased loved ones they didn't know were dead at the time that a sickness or trauma brought them to the edge of death).

The ones I find at all credible are the ones told by those who were genuinely taken by surprise by the experience, who simply relay their experience without embellish their experience and who didn't sit around thinking about things like the afterlife or whether or not your soul goes anywhere after your body dies.

Many of them report these reunions as indescribably joyful, even when they meet someone who ctb, and their loved ones are healthy, young and whole again.

Yes, there is a chance you will see those who have passed on before you and who you miss again.

I believe in karma and reincarnation. I choose to since obviously who knows. But I'm already in a big black void….I can't think that's all there is. I still have hope. Not for this life but for my next.

I do not believe there is anything after death, just eternal nothingness really. I think once we lose consciousness that is it for us, we do not experience anything after that. Just like how before we were born time passed and we were not aware of anything. This actually comforts me and I don't like the thought of any afterlife.

How can you sound so sure? Not trying to be dismissive I just want to hear your thought process as I have a similar one.

i am not a spiritual person, i didn't ever have any visions or experiences of that kind. i only believe in logic, there is no karma or justice in the afterlife im afraid. it's all vaguely understood human brain and its emotions. i think people are afraid to dissapear completely so they think there is something after death

Not a childish thought at all. A genuine question.

i.. have my doubts. I'm not very spiritual. But sometimes I wish I was so I could have some sort of hope of seeing my dog again just for a second
