i was watching a documentary about the whole thing today. they killed him with bow and arrow, and i believe from pretty far away.
i don't think he ever stepped foot on the island.
he was (i'm just guessing) maybe 10 meters away, and they still killed him only with bow and arrow.
so if they, with extremely limited means, can make such deadly weapons... it should be easy to make a bow strong enough for suicide.
(or i guess just buy a profesionally made one if they are still legal)
