Evening, I hope everyone's okay, I think this is still allowed on here because it doesn't involve talk about the actual method. Feel free to delete it if I'm wrong though. I plan to go in a hotel room because I don't want my family to have to find me. I'll book for two nights but how can I lessen the impact it'll have on the person that finds me. I'd prefer for it to be a police officer or at least someone that's had training and would know where to access support if they needed it. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this?

Most likely, it will be normal hotel staff that will find you, and they will probably not have that kind of training. If you really want your end to be like you describe, you would need to call the police and say that someone is trying to kill you in your hotel room, but that will only increase the chance of your end to fail, since they will probably get there sooner than your method can have any chance of doing what it should.

The large hotel chains have protocols to deal with suicides. Maybe you could do it in the bathroom with a note on the door saying to call the police and that there is a dead body inside.

I would love to do it in the wilderness somewhere but it just isn't practical. Hotels provide a decent option for everyone. You have plenty of time alone, the body won't be found by anyone you know and hotels can discreetly take care of all the clean up.

There is a way to possibly choose who will find you. One of my email systems allow time delayed emails. I plan to use this system to notify my son by sending him a delayed email that allows me ample time to CTB before I'm discovered.

Put a tarp underneath yourself to catch your fluids.

Thank you all for your help. I've already planned for it to be in a chain hotel in the hopes that they already have protocols to deal with suicides. Do you think sending a delayed email to the police or hotel would be more beneficial, I'd give myself a long enough time, I just want to go with the least hassle possible. I think I'd still do it in the bathroom with a note on the door just in case though, I wouldn't want something to go wrong and for some poor staff to walk in and find me

Good idea, thank you. Do you think it would be easier to also do it in the bath then, so it's contained in one area or best not to?

I've planned to leave a tip to the hotel to be shared among the staff members. If one of them were to find me I'd at least want them to have the finances available to afford counselling to reduce the emotional burden on them. By note do you mean just on the door or an apology, I've thought about it before but not sure if personalising the suicide as an actual person instead of just random would make it more difficult to deal with

Just don't do it on any surface that can soak up fluids. Also cover your body if you can. I don't think the police really want to see that, even if it's their job.
