If you found solutions to your main problems, then please tell us in details your backstory and explain how you solved psychological problems.

Your story might help empower individuals to find solution to their own problems by learning from others who have successfully overcome similar challenges.

This megathread aims to prevent individuals silently leave without posting about their recovery, depriving others of their valuable insights and to prevent loss of already posted recovery stories amidst the constant flow of posts.

1.Please share your experience of what you went through and how you got cured, ensuring that your story is detailed as much as possible.
It matters because it will help people to understand better if your solutions is suitable for them or not.

2.Begin your story by indicating whether you are fully cured or partially cured. If you fall into the latter category, please explain the distinction as it applies to you.

This is my story of recovery from anxiety and chronic pain, I am pretty much fully cured now, I've shared bit and pieces here but it's nice to have a thread.

I have a long history of chronic pain, starting about 20 years ago with back pain then developing knee pain and later foot pain while also suffering with intermitant wrist pain. This became worse as time progressed severely inhibiting my lifestyle for the past 7 years.
Around last October my foot pain really started to up the ante. Over a period of a couple of months at became increasingly debilitating and so painful I couldn't even sit with my feet placed on the ground. I was reduced to spending most of my day laid out on the floor in perpetual torment. I had given up and after much consideration I decided to take my own life....
After 4 failed suicide attempts in the space of a week I was left in even more despair. I had a scheduled doctors appointment and decided to open up to the doctor and my family, which subsequently led me to a short 3 day stay in a mental ward. It just made things worse and I was allowed home after I promised I would keep trying to look for an answer.
About 3 months passed, with trips to podiatrists, ostepaths, Physical Therapy, diets, I was trying everything but nothing worked and I was still left in the same state of despair and torment. That's when I started plainning again to take my life, I started researching various new methods that would work this time and making prepartions and buying equipment.
I was so close to going through with it and then I stumbled opon a miracle. I was listening to a body scan meditation on Youtube and I noticed two words in the comments "Dr Sarno" I thought this was just another quack but I had nothing to lose by checking it out. I then found the video by "Pow music" about TMS and his little vlog really inspired me. Everything seemed to makes sense and he seemed so genuine so I started trying little things and it was working! After that I just kept looking for more and more stuff on TMS and found an audio copy of "Healing back pain". When I listened I cannot describe the sense of realisation and association I felt.
Now it has been about a 3 or 4 months since I first discovered Dr Sarno and TMS and the change has been amazing, I have a life again, I am out walking long distances, socialising, cycling, even going on runs which I haven't done in 8 years, It's just so incredible I could go on and on and but I've gone on enough
🙂

If you got this far, thank you for reading my story and I'm just happy to be here (both literally and figuratively lol)

So now I am pretty much fully recovered, I do have bad days still and I have a history or suicide ideation but for now I'm doing pretty good. I still like to hang around here because nobody realy understands how I felt or what I went through and I relate to a lot of people here. I mainly stay in the recovery and off topic sections now and maybe I can offer help and support to anyone who needs it

I'm happy to accept pms from anyone who wants more info or just wants to talk.

Also I'm aware this could sound like an advert for something but I can promise you this is legit and I would never ask anyone for a penny, all the resources I found were free and didn't cost me anything.

Yes sorry it has two abbreviations, tension myositis syndrome, or tension myoneural syndrome. It has become synonymous with Dr Sarno as he was the one who developed the research, it's now also known as mind body syndrome
