Poisonous chemicals have killed a man in an apparent suicide that prompted the evacuation of the Premier inn on Staines Road West we sadly report this evening.

Poisonous chemicals have killed a man in an apparent suicide that prompted the evacuation of the Premier inn on staines road West we sadly report this evening.


About 3pm on Thursday afternoon (28th October 2021) emergency services were dispatched to the hotel on a report of an attempted suicide using chemicals. The crew found the man understood to be in his early 20's dead in a hotel room.





A police source saidtthat officers are investigating the incident as a suicide


A numbers of people were evacuated from the hotel whilst an investigation was launched into the chemical used by the man to take his life.


Hazardous materials teams from the fire service set up a decontamination area whilst others works to identify the unknown chemical. The results of the chemical tests that are believed to have been a sodium nitrite based product have been shared with officers from Surrey Police. They are now working on behalf of the coroner to prepare a file for an inquest that will be opened later

My poor parents support my need to die but it's a tiny seaside resort where everyone knows everyone else. I'm not leaving note with substance as only have 12hrs not 24. The more info they have the more chance of being brought round in hospital tho unlikely. I'll be leaving note saying I've taken drugs.

That probably happened because there was no indication that it was SN If there was no container or note left stating it. Therefore it could have any substance, which lead the police to the response to evacuate the area or this case the entire hotel.

It's odd that the headline mentions a Hazmat suit but then the article does not mention it further. That would be my guess for the evacuation though. Would most likely spook whomever discovered the body.

RIP to the young man, even though I'm not much older and may ctb myself I always feel sad hearing about others' suicides, especially when they're so young.

But eeek I didn't know they did all this for hotel suicides. Evacuating everyone? I thought I'd be out the way taking my own life somewhere, I never wanted to disrupt people's days like this. Anyway.. I still plan to do a hotel ctb.

SS already switched hosts a few times because it kept getting taken down. Negative attention is something we don't need.

I'm considering that as well. Doing it outdoors eliminates a lot of the human factors that could botch it.
