I received my SN and it has come vacuum sealed in a bag. It also says food grade and purity is 99.999%. Is this possible? I'm worrying now that it's not legit and I'll fail.

The vacuum seal is good, the SN oxidize and transform in nitrate if let in contact with oxigen.
The only way to know if its legit, is testing it. There are a few recommendations in the forum. One is with blood and the other is with aquarium kits.
Once you open it put it in a closed recipient preferable one that close hermetically.

Thank you. What do you think about the 99.999% purity claim? Does is sound a bit dodgy or do you think it's possible. It wasn't cheap.
Yes it is possible to achieve that kind of purity, but if you say that says food grade i think that is more for publicity, but the good news is that can be legit, with enough concentration to do, what you decide to do with it
Test it is the only way to know.
I'm worried still. This is how it arrived.

Not sure why the packaging concerns you. I really liked it. Seems high quality to me given how well it consistently opens and seals again which I was concerned about. I also think the idea is it is meant to be discreet.
Overall I think it's clear the source is very "pro-choice" given their other endeavors and language on their websites, and I don't think it would be in their interest to scam. I'll post my experience in case that's the only one you bought and you don't want to open it quite yet.

I was pleased to see it was very similar to the other posts with high purity. Clumpy due to not much or any fillers (correct me if I'm wrong here) and a very slight yellowish tint which isn't exactly visible in the photo I'm attaching.
Unfortunately my front camera is out of commission so I couldn't get a higher quality picture

Does it matter whether the sn is food grade or reagent grade? I'm worried whether the food grade will be less effective.

i ordered the same one, it is now going through customs and i hope they won't seize it. i heard from people in my country that got problems with the police after ordering sn. i think it's legit, it was recommended by some users.

I also think that this sn is legitimate, but to be really sure it would be necessary to do a test with a specific strip
I have a smilar package that I got from an ebay seller before the restrictions got tighter and I also wondered whether it was 99.999% also. I was also worried about opening it so the advice here has been helpful. I will have to give testing a try and to get an airtight bag before doing so.

No, just to the OP that the packaging was legit. I did see somewhere here where someone has done the testing on it. I just got my aquarium test kit the other day and I'm now waiting for time home alone to do the test.
Ah. Ok. Got you. By the way, did you order a reagent type test where you add drops to a liquid solution of SN and water and then compare it to a colored chart? If so, do you know how to conduct that test properly? I know about the aquarium test using test strips but that's it.
Does anyone know if anyone from this forum successfully CTB with this "specific" type of SN?

I have the aquarium testing kit. It has me dipping a test strip into a solution of SN & water - and then comparing the strip to a colored chart. The PPeH talks about testing it by dipping a test strip into a water/SN solution. The hardest part for me will be getting the measurements right for the water solution. I live in the US, so I'm more used to measuring in cups/quarts/gallons than measuring in liters. Pretty sure of my measuring cups does have milliliter marks on it though.
Can I ask you what kit and how do you actually test the mixture? How much SN would you put in how much water? Since you control the amount of each, isn't it easy just to set your own concentration and just observe the color change? If you make a 2mg per liter solution, then you know what your test kit color should be. So I don't truly understand how the reagent test works to determine purity.
I have got this exact SN. It is completely legit. I got it from a site in Canada but it is a food site not a pro choice site. I am in the UK and I had no problems at all
Maybe don't say this stuff out loud because people/authorities might come after the website owners for helping those CTB when that isnt what he had in mind. Not only will everyone here not be able to get SN as easily but the website owner will be in jail which is also bad
