Really wish I could share my music here

I really wish I could share the music I make on these forums, because I actually think it might be the only audience that understands or resonates with it, but I just can't really do that without outing my entire identity, which sucks.

I've been struggling to figure out who the right audience is for it, and now I feel like I might be in the right spot, and it's not safe to do it. Just kind of a bummer.
I also just have a fear that someone would be listening to one of my songs while they CTB and idk how I would feel about that. I respect peoples wishes, I don't believe someone who is determined to kill themselves can be swayed anyways, but I don't like the idea of being a part of it other than hoping they find peace.

It just feels like no one I share my art with really hears me.
At the end of the day, the art is for me, but I always wish it could be for other people, too.

Is your music already known somewhere? Otherwise you could just make an account on Soundcloud with some anonymous user name and then share it here.

Why would it bother you if people might CTB to your music? You sure wouldn't be alone in it, many other artists and bands have to expect this happening, in particular those of the darker themes and genres. I've seen multiple threads here asking, "what music/song would you want to die to?"

It's normal that people wish to wear some favorite clothes and be surrounded by their favorite things when they die, including their favorite music if possible. I'd think it would be an honor if they chose it as the last thing they want to hear in this world, and you most likely wouldn't even know it anyway.

I have it up on all the streaming platforms. It's not known but I'm worried about my family and friends knowing I'm on this forum because someone comments "Came here from Sanctioned Suicide!!" or something.

I'd have to be like "Whelp dunno how that happened! Someone must be pretending to be me on this forum" which would not be believable lmao.

And yeah I suppose you're right. Thinking about songs like Affection by Amber Run and how that would've been my song of choice a few years ago and they're just out there making their art. And i'm just out there feeling it way hard. And I want to make music that makes people feel something... That's the whole point.

This is highly relatable, except my work was uploaded everywhere by a small record label that dropped me almost 20 years ago for not making them any money, and my stupid face is plastered on a series of stupid profiles over which I have no control.

Uploading an existing song here would probably be too easy to trace back to the source, but maybe you could produce something to share with us, or perhaps you have an unreleased b-side lying around. I'd love to hear anything, personally.

I've been a singer/songwriter for most of my life. I've got lots of songs both on soundcloud and youtube. Although tempting, I would never link to them here for privacy reasons.

I'd like to think "There's nothing wrong with coming from forum where people can exist honestly in their thoughts and feelings" might suffice, but man this place is obviously really controversial.

I just wish there were another forum with a similar audience but not having to be tied to the name or controversy. Well, I'm sure there is one, but I wouldn't know how to find it lol.

I finally made one I don't think I can share with the public anyway, because it's too blatantly about my family and also... I accidentally wrote a rap song? I just had a lot of feelings I had to get out. Idk if anyone will relate to it, but here's a link.

You know, it's embarrassing, but at least it's embarrasing and currenly anonymous.

I appreciate it! And that's the kicker for me I feel like a lot of people on here would relate to a lot of the music I make but it's just like, I don't need people here knowing all my personal details lmao and for anyone else to know I frequent the forum.

Your music is amazing. There's definitely a lot I can relate to in it. You have a beautiful voice. I write lyrics and I like to sing, but I lack the skills to make music or play an instrument... not from lack of trying lol. I wish I could make what I make shareable. What are lyrics without a sound? What is a song without a beat? I'm a good writer, but I'm an amateur singer. My voice isn't good enough to carry a song.

I finished writing a couple songs recently after going through a few really rough days, you know what they say about pain as a fuel for creativity. I think they'd really resonate with other people too, but it also feels embarrassing. Especially without having the music part of the song to share. It's nice that it can at least be a cherished hobby as well as a practical and effective form of therapy though. Being caught between "I must share this!" and "No one can ever see this." is a funny place to be lol.

You're better than I ever was. You have an excellent singing voice, and the production quality is strong. May I ask which mic you use? I used a Rhode NT1 back in the day.

Thank you! I used an NT1 for the longest time but I just switched over to a Shure SM7B. A lot of people told me not to, but I've enjoyed all the vocals I've worked with while using it. It's also better for my apartment because the dynamic mic versus condenser... the NT1 picks up every sound and the SM7B feels pretty focused on me. It's almost like there aren't constant cars and sirens outside lmao.

I kind of relate in that I wish I could stream to people here. I miss streaming but I would 100% end up attracting some of my elsewhere friends and then have to explain where all of my suicidal viewers came from.
