  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Even when we know that suicide is not a phenomenon that is experienced in this way.

What arguments do you find to know that life is pure shit and that the most rational option is to choose death?

You make that decision yourself on what you have experienced. No one can say if your reasons are right or wrong they are your reasons. Pro lifers will always give the you don't know what's round the corner, In 12 months you will back on this and wonder why you let that thing affect you. Heard a new one today, I win 100% of the time staying alive. Where is that bus.

i'm constantly thinking about this question, and i have found many arguments for death.
the problem is that i cannot publish my thoughts anywhere, because the point of view of pro-suicide people is censored [including on this forum].

life is evil, life is a mistake. life is needs that have been imposed on us and that do not need to exist

All you're problems are solved once you finally die/ctb.

To me, that's more than enough to CTB.

There are much more negatives than positives in life, and the negatives are always much more severe

I don't know if this really answers your question, but something I've been thinking about a lot lately is how you aren't allowed to be suicidal in this society. If you mention it, they lock you up and/or pump you full of pills and expect it to solve everything. If you're lucky, you'll get some crappy therapy an hour a week. Instead, there needs to be infrastructure that accepts that death is a part of life, and some people want to die, rather than seeing the desire to ctb as a temporary problem to fix.

When your suffering outweighs your motivation to live then it might be time to consider suicide as an option. Unless the source of suffering can be eradicated.

Eternal debate I guess. Some of us just don't seem to fit in this world or our existence is just too painful. I don't think anyone really gets it unless they've battled these feelings.

I think you're right that people don't get it unless they've battled the feelings. This is just one issue with how people are treated poorly and unfairly. How can a system that claims to want to offer people hope and save lives help if they don't even understand nor accept what they deem to be the "problem"?

I've personally found that suicide is only answer when living life onwards is unbearable and impossible (due to many reasons).

I've always wondered what the point in life is, if you're not religious then it's unlikely you'll think there's some kind of grand reason why each of us is here.
No single life matters, everyone will be forgotten about eventually. Even if you do manage to do something that society decides is 'special', you still won't be remembered once the Sun dies out and obliterates the Earth.
You can take this perspective and find it inspiring, life changing even. This might sound freeing to some, you can do whatever you want, enjoy it while you can!
But I'm a pessimistic person, I take it and wonder why I should bother at all if it's worth nothing. If we're suffering then I see no logical reason why it shouldn't be allowed to just 'leave' life. It's not something we chose to be part of.

It doesn't have to be that things are pure shit. They just have to be bad enough to where the good parts aren't worth dealing with the bad ones.

1. No one knows your own life better than you. Even if you're wrong in some respects, you're a better judge of it than anyone else.
2. You shouldn't have to live a shit life. If by your own judgment the chances of improvement are low, you should be able to opt out of suffering.
The legalization of medically assisted death is just a polite version of the above two. Basically MAID acknowledges that you have your own reasons for dying and that judgment should prevail.

When all you have to look forward to is more suffering, it makes sense
