Hello I'm new here and I want you to rate my method. I've read some pinned threads, but I'm really bad at chemistry and didn't understand much.

So, there is a railroad that runs through my city. Some sections have unguarded crossings that aren't very crowded. I planned to check the train schedule and go to the tracks at night when it was dark, just to lay my head on the tracks and wait for the train. Here are the advantages:
1. It will be painless and quick
2. It will be 100% effective and there's no way it can fail
3. I won't disturb neighbors or social workers. I'll likely be discovered within a couple of hours

What do you think about my plan and what are the possible problems with it? What are the advantages of SN and other chemical-based methods?

Could there be a knee-jerk reaction just before the train comes? I have heard it happens with other methods. It could be solved with ear plugs or ear phones with music but there still vibrations on the rail.

If you're sure about that then I'd rate this method a 10/10 😂 (Jokes aside I can't provide any constructive criticism on your method since i'm not educated on the mechanisms behind ctb from getting hit by a train, all I can say is good luck finding peace)

All I know about death via train is that it's very hard to clean up the remains. If you do decide to go through with it, some public sanitation officer will be very mad at you. Personally, I think this is very funny.

I think that this only happens if I am hit by a train. Here, as I understand it, I will simply have my head cut off

This method isn't as easy as you think and you will certainly traumatize everyone who has to witness or clean up the mess you leave behind. Plus, your survival instinct will kick in at the last moment and you will end up in a worse situation than you are now as you attempt to move out of the way.

How can you be sure about that?

As I said earlier, I plan to do this at night outside the city or in a place where there aren't many people. The most I'll traumatize is the train driver, if he even notices me

It won't be at the station itself, but at a certain distance where there definitely won't be any people

You will need nerves of steel or be unconscious when 100 tons of steel comes roaring down the tracks and everything is shaking and vibrating.

Also, you may want to think about the driver who will ultimately feel responsible for your death. Plus someone has to clean up the mess of your battered and headless corpse. That's a trauma that I hope to have to never endure.

Have thought about this method. Maybe covering your head with something would lessen the trauma if someone found you? IDK.

Thanks for your reply, but isn't that kind of like a guillotine?

Is that Japan?

As to your method, SI can be a problem for sure. But I think people who get past it just reach a point where they say "fuck it!" and go for it.

If it were me, I'd try to time it so I lay down just a few seconds before it gets there - the longer you are there waiting, the more you get inside your head and that means SI.

If you do a google image search for modern train locomotives you'll see that most of them have some form of guard in front of the wheels to deflect obstacles on the tracks. For that reason alone this isn't a good method, quite apart from all the other issues which people have touched on.

If I were to choose this, I have to think that surely I would need some kind of sedative to knock me out as I lie on the tracks, to prevent me from trying to get up at last moment

Downsides are its very scary. A train makes loud noise and vibrates the tracks and the driver may even blow a loud horn. SI is very likely to be strong. Probably will traumatize the driver.
