  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

I gave the ratchet strap with the hacky sacks a test run this morning and it would not work. The ratchet is bulky and when tightened causes the strap to tighten downward from top of neck over Adams apple. I tried it without the hacky sacks over the arteries and it was similar but the jugulars were getting squeezed which is aweful and then the release wasn't working. The blood built in my head without getting faint at all and I had to get to the bathroom to get scissors and cut the strap where I sewed it to the ratchet. I am very disheartened over this. I should have purchased a pistol before my first attempt last year got me banned for life from owning one.

It is maybe for good- there might be more peaceful methods. I heard there are not many successful attempts with ratchet- sounds not peaceful.

It must had been awful having that experience, that method doesn't sound particularly reliable, I would fear trying anything like that. I understand why you would feel so disappointed, it really is frustrating and unfair how suicide can be this difficult and how more reliable methods get restricted. I wish you freedom from suffering.

I've experienced the jugular compression before and that was the most uncomfortable part of it. I did get pretty Panicked when I could not release the ratchet. I wasn't getting faint but it started feeling like things were going to start bursting in my head. The worst part is that it seems like what I thought was going to be my out failed. I wasn't going to try and end it today either. I was just trying to get a feel for how to use the whole set up.

I'm starting to think more about charcoal and a tent. My thinking was that you had to have it smoking at the time and that would be horrible choking on the smoke. I read today that you can wait until the smoke stops and then bring it into the tent.

I may also just retry my original attempt. The first time was with a cloth mask around my neck and a wooden spoon. I went out fast and it really didn't hurt at all. The onky issue is getting it to stay tight. I have been thinking if using a cane instead of the spoon for the lever as the cane is much longer and I can perhaps hook it around my leg to keep it from slipping loose like the spoon. Honestly I don't know if the spoon slipped or the cloth mask expanded a little as it was semi stretchy. All I know is that I came to so something gave. If I try this route again I will use something like a silk scarf that does not stretch at all with the cane. I'm certainly afraid of having a stroke or something and winding up worse and unable to even try and exit. I am just suffering so bad. If I could even get a 25% reduction in my symptoms I would give up on this altogether but its just getting worse. The frustration I'm feeling if separated from the physical and cognitive issues would be enough to drive me to end it. I just want to go outside and scream for help. It's torture. Sorry to start venting like this. My wife can't listen to it anymore despite how much we love eachother. I drive her crazy with it. I literally am at a point I can't stop anymore.

This is correct. High quality charcoal, 100% carbon. Sealed tent. Wait until 99% smoke ceases. This is my first choice method and most likely the one I will use. The only real concern is you need to make sure you raise the level of CO in the tent to a high enough amount. There's a chart on this forum (and the Internet) that shows the various concentration levels of CO (in PPM) and their effects at those levels. You need to generate enough CO to get levels up above 10,000 PPM, and above 12,000 PPM would be even better. This will result in reaching unconsciousness quickly (minimal suffering) and ultimate death quickly thereafter. I'm going to invest in a CO meter to make sure I get the level up high enough. If you only generate a level of say, 3000 PPM, you will take a much longer time to reach unconsciousness, if you do at all, and may not even die. If you don't die, the resulting damage to yourself can be irreversible, possibly to such an extent that you won't be able to even try CTB ever again. CO isn't one of the methods you want to screw up.

I failed partial, rachet scares me. Using those balls was clever too bad it didn't work. The tutorial I saw showed whole pillows?

I feel the same. I kinda begged for help and was called crazy, shamed & threatened. I want out either way. Had so many projects... Sad.

I use vitamin c & b for pain. It healed some brain damage after a car hit my head. But comes back if people stress me out until I break

Can we go camping together? I'll contribute some co?

I'm glad that asking questions about rachet didn't get you bullied, called a troll, pro lifer, other horrors, the way they do for SN. I have a very hard tome trusting SN because they censor the bad.
