When you go to war, a reasonable expectation is that the enemy will try to kill you.
Yes, it is possible to wage a good war, just wars do exist. For example I believe that Poland was waging a just war in 1939 against German aggression, and later Russian aggression. It woud be very hard to argue against this.
HOWEVER, it is silly to act like the Germans somehow were guilty because they were shooting Poles WHILE AT WAR. I wil repeat because maybe is hard to get the gist.
Germany's war in 1939 against Polad was unjust.
But to complain that german soldiers are trying to kill Poles, on the battlefield, well. This is the definition of war. That is how it works. People try to kill other people. To complain about this is illogical.
Now, about Gaza Israel et al, one can say that we are talking about civilians killed tortured etc.
Well... yes. But it is not like, it is a big surprise that Hamas or whoever else would be in their place on Palestine side had Hamas never been founded, so is not a big surprise that Hamas is acting like a rogue gang of skinheads, because, well, that is what they are. A gang of skinheads. Or, if you think this term is derogatory, a gang of redneck bikers. ( I personally think rednecks are worse that skinheads, but to each their own.) But what they are definitely not, they are not a state with a police force and an army. Well... Because, well, Israel occupied their country. Like, in 48. And they do not exist as a country. That is the reason they don't have an army and an airforce and ambassadors etc. Because they don't really exist as a state. They do not exist in the same world, in the same paradigm as Israel, USA, Mongolia and South Sudan. Ok maybe not South Sudan. Idk about them.
So, like, maybe, don't do rock concerts around them. Idk? Dont act as they don't exist? They kinda have a history of terror acts. Is like aproaching a real bear as if it is a teddy bear.
Otherwise, I don't care who wins, I have no dog in the fight. I dont speak Arab nor Hebrew. I think they wage an existential war, both of them, and I don't take any side in this war. I just find illogical things bizzarre.
The logic of this comes from a similar setting. I remembered reading this thread, that I was talking to a friend of mine 30 years ago. About Romanian anticommunist military resistance. In the 50's. 1950's. So some newspapers told stories about how anticommunist fighters from the 50s were caught , tortured and killed by the communist state eventually. Well, I am all with the anticommunist fighters. 100%. If I were alive in the 50's in Hungary or Romania I would probably act the same. I hate communism with a passion. But if I were caught and killed, I would not complain to God or to any passers-by. It is a risk you take the second you rise against an enemy. The risk of being killed, or worse. If you don't want that risk, then, don't go to war.
And, actually, if I want to be even more specific, it is wrong to separate civilian and military deaths. Not because civilians are not more vulnerable than soldiers, but for the opposite reason. Because the soldiers in a regular army have no desire whatsoever to die for a flag. With some exceptions, most of them would rather have sex with theor girlfriend, or a bier or watch a boring reality show or watch by the window or do anything else than shooting at the enemy from a dirty trench. Maybe some soldiers are actually true believers in their nation's truth, but the vast majority are not. So it is merely war propaganda. On both sides. And yes, even the Germans were victims in ww2. They were all victims, the whole lot. There is no Arian race, not in Germany, Israel, Gaza or the Kingdom of God. BUT, besides that, my point remains valid. If you DO take arms, for a just or an unjust cause, then expect to be killed.
