  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

It is a place where suicidal people encourage each other to live, despite not believing personally believe that life is worth it. Otherwise, pro-choice comments and users will get banned either by mods or by Reddit for encouraging violence. Censorship and denialism is a characteristic of "pro-life" communities. Unfortunately, I came on Reddit after pro-choice communities were banned, but in reality users scattered in communities such as antinatalism, meirl, depression memes and other meme pages. I am grateful for this forum, where I can talk about anything without fear of censorship.

I nearly lost my Reddit account (permanent ban, not just ban from suicidewatch) with 600,000 karma after telling a person that it is their right to decide whether to continue living or not. They restored it after me quoting the decision of the European Court of Human Rights on Suicide ( I sent it to many senior Reddit members).
The right to suicide has been established through a case law in the European Court of Human Rights: "The Court considers that an individual's right to decide by what means and at what point his or her life will end, provided he or she is capable of freely reaching a decision on this question and acting in consequence, is one of the aspects of the right to respect for private life within the meaning of Article 8 of the Convention". (Haas vs Switzerland, paragraph 51)

That does sound like a waste of time. I find pro lifers to be irritating. They are just people who are in denial. I will never understand the benefit of trying to force people to exist against their wishes. It isn't like censorship of this subject is going to prevent people from ctb anyway. But yes, the right to die is a human right that should be respected. There could never be anything wrong with someone deciding to exit a life that they never asked for in the first place.

Therapy and censorship can make you sink into denialism. I made my mind after reading philosophy and more specifically, antinatalism, nihilism, and promortalism (Camus, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche and Thomas Szasz)., having the opprtunity to consider both sides of the philosophical debate whether life is worth living.

Personally, I promote "hate speech" only against psychiatrists, because their diagnoses are unconfirmable and unfalsifiable, so If they tell that you are "incompetent" to make a choice, there is no way you can prove yourself competent, in order to exercise the right to suicide. If there are neurological disorders, there must be objective tests and effective therapies provided by neurologists. Psychiatrists are charlatans modern day priests. Without the psychiatric propaganda, no one would be able to take our right to suicide away and our right to discuss it freely!

I am still able to post there, but nearly lost my Reddit account when I made a pro-choice comment there like it's your right to decide and INDEED it is according to European Court of Human Rights.

I spent some time there at the beginning of my journey into the void. I think it can be a nice resource for people who are experiencing a mild, transient, first episode of suicidal ideation, but that's about it. I just took another look there for the first time since then and it is obvious that there are some people who have sunk to depths far lower than can be reached with those kinds of first line interventions and platitudes. People who would be better off voicing their woes in a place like this - maybe it'd be worth selectively letting such folks know about this site?

In some jurisdictions, you have to get a Court order and if the diagnosis is not totally blind and independent, the 2nd psychiatrist will just repeat the words of their colleague to protect themselves from legal liability.

It is very hard to discover Sanctioned Suicide, because others cannot type this link on Reddit. It is hidden from google as well. I randomly heard about it and here I am. Reddit was my comfort zone, but I have not regretted registering.

I came on Reddit after pro-choice communities were banned, but in reality users scattered in communities such as antinatalism, meirl, depression memes and other meme pages.
Users also came here (this site was made soon after r/SS was banned). I used to lurk on the subreddit, and I liked it more than here because there were way fewer active people (too many people is overwhelming). But Reddit censors just could not tolerate it (which facilitated the creation of this site, which is much more involved in method discussion than r/SS ever was).

They also annoy tf out of me because I posted a vent and they banned me permanently but there are posts up from months ago with detailed desc. Of how to CTB and those are still perfectly untouched. Make it make sence.

I don´t understand why Reddit allows people to write about suicide when they delete most of the comments anyway - it makes no sense. Suicide and human death are taboo almost everywhere.

Seems to me that SaSu was an old Reddit, long banned by Reddit.

The creation of an alternative forum totally independent of the web and tech giants was the solution so that this community could help each other without censorship or manipulation.

Reddit is a giant of the web and tech in general, which like Google, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Tiktok, Twitter,... allow themselves, by their hegemony, to be above the laws of anyone. which country in the world.

The web giants are above everything and the law, because no one can do without these web giants, unless they are isolated, marginal, or very old people, who have lived a large part of their life. without knowing the internet.

Now, when you want to study, your classmates are now on Facebook, when you work, your colleagues have groups on Facebook and force you to use Whatsapp to call for example.

When you want to win shopping vouchers, trips..., you sometimes have to create stories on Instagram...

Phones and tablets are on Android (Google) or are from Apple. The computers are often either under Windows or are from Apple, nobody thinks of putting Linux or a free OS.

Most people search with Google, instead of an alternative search engine, use Youtube, and Tiktok now, instead of looking elsewhere, because all the important videos are on these two websites. I'm sick of Google giving me those fucking suicide hotlines from my country every time I type the word suicide in it! This is not the case with any other search engine!

No one can do without these web and tech giants who are now, since the coronavirus crisis, the masters of the world!

As proof, they do not hesitate to censor and close the accounts of presidents of countries still in activity (Trump for example) or to destroy any attempt by countries, such as France, to tax them on a percentage of their superprofits, the highest of the world. The giants of the web of tech pay little or no taxes in the world.

Freedom of expression is a distant memory, just like the free internet in its infancy. Before the internet, it was television and the media that could have some control over the population, but at the local level or even in a country, but without censoring the competition!

With the web and tech giants, population control is global and they can stifle all competition.

We are dealing with 1984 of George Orwell and Idiocracy, with people becoming more and more dependent on tech, more and more unable to live independently without the need for tech, unable to read books, create things oneself...

This world frightens me more and more. I'm afraid that one day the SaSu forum will be closed, and that it will be impossible to recreate a new one because any attempt to find it will be impossible, with the censorship of the web and tech giants, obviously pro -life.

@disabledlife I used "inspect element" on UBlock Origin to block the suicide-hotline link that pops up every time I use Google. I don't want to call a hotline that's going to result in an interaction with the police or a trip to my local grippy-sock resort, aka the psych ward. I want to find resources that acknowledge the failings of mainstream suicide prevention, including this site. (I'm also a fan of the Alternatives to Suicide protocol, which trains peer supporters to provide nonjudgmental listening to people having suicidal ideations. They don't report people to the police and respect people's privacy. I've been participating in those groups for about three months, and it's helped me get through while my survival instinct is still active.)
