If your choice/decision is to (eventually) CBT, what or who would make you seriously reconsider that, if that's even possible? It can be anything or anyone. I have some questions I'd like you to answer, but feel free to only answer the question in the title. The questions down below are pretty random and no, I'm not saying either one of these should be a reason to change your mind. In my opinion, most of the times it shouldn't, but I'll get back to that. Take these questions as literal as possible.

1. Would you still go through with it if you could bring 1 person back to live?
2. Would you still go through with it if you knew that three people you knew (no specification on who exactly) would kill themselves right after you, leaving their loved ones behind?
3. Would you still go through with it if you suddenly became rich?
4. If you're physically sick rn, would you still go through with it if your physical illness suddenly dissapeared?
5. Would you still go through with it if you could choose exactly what your appearance looks like?
6. Would you still go through with it if you could make 1 wish, being able to wish for literally anything and if so, what would be your wish?
7. Would you still go through with it if you could do the last 10 years all over again with all the knowledge you have now?
8. Would you still go through with it if you knew for 1000% sure there would be absolutely NOTHING after dying? No Hell, Heaven, an afterlife, reincanation, etc. etc.
9. Would you still go through with it if that meant your entire existence would go away? All the memories, everything. "If you kill yourself, no one will attend your funeral because nobody was aware of your existence, as that will be washed out from everyone's head the minute you die." - What would you say?
10. Is there anything or anyone at all who could you change your decision?

I think I'm going to answer the questions tomorrow. It's late here and I'm tired.

Thanks in advance for answering the questions. It's not for school or research or anything. I got bored, went a little overboard and now I'm genuinely curious and interested in everyone's answers and opinions.

For the title question, what would make me reconsider would be if my brain fog would disappear along with my mental illnesses.

For the others:

1. Yes I would
2. That's a tough one. Probably not
3. Yes I would
4. N/A
5. Yes I would
6. My wish would be for the brain fog to disappear
7. No I wouldn't
8. No I wouldn't
9. Yes I would
10. Answer is at the top

1. Would you still go through with it if you could bring 1 person back to live? I would still do it
2. Would you still go through with it if you knew that three people you knew (no specification on who exactly) would kill themselves right after you, leaving their loved ones behind? I have no clue. Leaning towards staying alive, to give life once last shot.
3. Would you still go through with it if you suddenly became rich? I would still do it
4. If you're physically sick rn, would you still go through with it if your physical illness suddenly dissapeared? NA
5. Would you still go through with it if you could choose exactly what your appearance looks like? I would still do it
6. Would you still go through with it if you could make 1 wish, being able to wish for literally anything and if so, what would be your wish? I would live
7. Would you still go through with it if you could do the last 10 years all over again with all the knowledge you have now? I would live
8. Would you still go through with it if you knew for 1000% sure there would be absolutely NOTHING after dying? No Hell, Heaven, an afterlife, reincanation, etc. etc. That's even more reason to do it for me
9. Would you still go through with it if that meant your entire existence would go away? All the memories, everything. "If you kill yourself, no one will attend your funeral because nobody was aware of your existence, as that will be washed out from everyone's head the minute you die." - What would you say? I wouldn't go through with it if I could do the last 10 years again. That would be enough time to change all the things that led me to this point. Even though things before that have also led me here- 10 years would be enough to make it ok for sure.

  1. I still think I would.
  2. That's a pretty tough scenario. It would give me pause, but I'm not sure it would be enough. I know how horrible that sounds.
  3. Yes, at least for a while. I'd do a little traveling, go and meet with friends I haven't seen in years, visit my favorite bookstores and museums. But I'm pretty certain I'd come back to the place I'm at now.
  4. It's not an applicable question in my case, not yet at least.
  5. Yes.
  6. No, if I could wish for a healthy mind free of fear and anxiety and maybe a touch of Zen serenity.
  7. I would have to go back 20 years, so given the parameters of your question, yes, I would still go through with it.
  8. Yes.
  9. Yes. I'm not selfless enough to say I wouldn't want dear friends and loved ones to remember me, but that would not be enough to dissuade me.
  10. God, Buddha, or a magic shaman who could wave his wand and fix my broken brain.

1. Would you still go through with it if you could bring 1 person back to live? Yes.
2. Would you still go through with it if you knew that three people you knew (no specification on who exactly) would kill themselves right after you, leaving their loved ones behind? I don't know for sure but it would probably make me want to try to live.
3. Would you still go through with it if you suddenly became rich? No. At least not right now.
4. If you're physically sick rn, would you still go through with it if your physical illness suddenly dissapeared? N/A.
5. Would you still go through with it if you could choose exactly what your appearance looks like? Yes.
6. Would you still go through with it if you could make 1 wish, being able to wish for literally anything and if so, what would be your wish? No. I'd live.
7. Would you still go through with it if you could do the last 10 years all over again with all the knowledge you have now? No. I'd live. Actually, that's going to be my wish for the question above.
8. Would you still go through with it if you knew for 1000% sure there would be absolutely NOTHING after dying? No Hell, Heaven, an afterlife, reincanation, etc. etc. I don't know. I'm not an atheist. The thought of there being nothing actually scares me for some reason. If anything it would make me postpone it out of fear.
9. Would you still go through with it if that meant your entire existence would go away? All the memories, everything. "If you kill yourself, no one will attend your funeral because nobody was aware of your existence, as that will be washed out from everyone's head the minute you die." - What would you say? Absolutely. I'd prefer it that way.
10. Is there anything or anyone at all who could you change your decision? I don't know. Still trying to figure that out.

very interesting questions, i'll try to answer as honestly as possible.

1. yes.
2. probably yes, i'm in a similar situation to this one right now and that's the only reason why i'm posponing my suicide.
3. yes, but being rich will definitely give me some extra years before the inevitable.
4. no, my illnesses is the entire reason why my life is beyond fucked and why my apearance is the way it is.
5. no, i'll be willing to put through this life if i could look exactly how i wanted even in terrible pain from my other issues.
6. no, and i'll probably whish for either curing my illnesses or living immortaly in a beautiful body.
7. even if i could go back 10 years with my knowledge, there is no way of curing me just with that so yes.
8. yes, that's what i'm expecting anyway.
9. yes, that sounds quite convenient actually.
10. definitely not, no technology or person could be able to truly help me.

I feel like number 6 negates the original question- as if you could have one wish - most people would
be able to solve the main issue making them want to do it-be it health - mental/ physical, loss of a loved one, money woes, one big mistake/ regret...

3. Would you still go through with it if you suddenly became rich? No because I think more opportunities I don't have now might open up to me if I became rich
4. If you're physically sick rn, would you still go through with it if your physical illness suddenly dissapeared? I'm not physically sick, if my mental illness would disappear then I of course wouldn't
5. Would you still go through with it if you could choose exactly what your appearance looks like? Yes because I'm not exactly ugly right now (not at all trying to sound vain) but my physical appearance is actually well kept, surprisingly
6. Would you still go through with it if you could make 1 wish, being able to wish for literally anything and if so, what would be your wish? No. To only feel happiness every day of my life
7. Would you still go through with it if you could do the last 10 years all over again with all the knowledge you have now? I don't know, give me back the 10 years and I'll let u know :P
8. Would you still go through with it if you knew for 1000% sure there would be absolutely NOTHING after dying? No Hell, Heaven, an afterlife, reincanation, etc. etc. I don't know, I believe in heaven and it comforts me

"If you kill yourself, no one will attend your funeral because nobody was aware of your existence, as that will be washed out from everyone's head the minute you die." - What would you say? Yes! Because that cuts the guilty feeling of potential damage left behind

1. Would you still go through with it if you could bring 1 person back to live? Yes as I have no one I've lost.
2. Would you still go through with it if you knew that three people you knew (no specification on who exactly) would kill themselves right after you, leaving their loved ones behind? I'm not sure, this one would be really hard for me. I'd more than likely stay because I care too much about others.
3. Would you still go through with it if you suddenly became rich? No
4. If you're physically sick rn, would you still go through with it if your physical illness suddenly dissapeared? Yes
5. Would you still go through with it if you could choose exactly what your appearance looks like? Yes
6. Would you still go through with it if you could make 1 wish, being able to wish for literally anything and if so, what would be your wish? To be a part of the one family I wish for and to be loved and accepted completely.
7. Would you still go through with it if you could do the last 10 years all over again with all the knowledge you have now? Yes

1. Would you still go through with it if you could bring 1 person back to live? Yes.
2. Would you still go through with it if you knew that three people you knew (no specification on who exactly) would kill themselves right after you, leaving their loved ones behind? Yes
3. Would you still go through with it if you suddenly became rich? Most likely. Money can't fix my poor health.
4. If you're physically sick rn, would you still go through with it if your physical illness suddenly dissapeared? No. My physical illness is almost entirely why I have to end it.
5. Would you still go through with it if you could choose exactly what your appearance looks like? Yes
6. Would you still go through with it if you could make 1 wish, being able to wish for literally anything and if so, what would be your wish? I'd only wish for good health so this unbearable pain would go away.
7. Would you still go through with it if you could do the last 10 years all over again with all the knowledge you have now? Yes. I'd still be sick unfortunately.
8. Would you still go through with it if you knew for 1000% sure there would be absolutely NOTHING after dying? No Hell, Heaven, an afterlife, reincanation, etc. etc. I already believe this so yes. I'd have done it already if I believed in something.
9. Would you still go through with it if that meant your entire existence would go away? All the memories, everything. "If you kill yourself, no one will attend your funeral because nobody was aware of your existence, as that will be washed out from everyone's head the minute you die." - What would you say? I have no problem with this. I don't want a funeral anyway.
10. Is there anything or anyone at all who could you change your decision? If I could be healthy and not in excruciating pain I'd want to live.

4. I am not physically ill.

6. No, and I would wish for infinite wishes.
7. Probably not. For the most part, I fucked up my own life.

1. Would you still go through with it if you could bring 1 person back to life?
Yes, because my situation has nothing to do with dead people.

2. Would you still go through with it if you knew that three people you knew (no specification on who exactly) would kill themselves right after you, leaving their loved ones behind?
Yes, because nobody is gonna off themselves after I do.

3. Would you still go through with it if you suddenly became rich?
Hard to say. Maybe not. I could buy my way back into the industry with the wealth, I guess. /shrug

4. If you're physically sick right now, would you still go through with it if your physical illness suddenly disappeared?
Not applicable to my predicament.

5. Would you still go through with it if you could choose exactly what your appearance looks like?
Not applicable to my predicament. I don't hate my looks.

6. Would you still go through with it if you could make 1 wish, being able to wish for literally anything and if so, what would be your wish?
No. The wish I would make is to erase the gravest mistakes that I had made, which in turn would restore my standing within the VA community.

7. Would you still go through with it if you could do the last 10 years all over again with all the knowledge you have now?
No. If I could have a do over, I would definitely not fuck up this time. I wouldn't even need to go that far back. Just the last 8 years would be enough. Heck, let me just do over the last 3 years (Feb 2016), and I would still be okay.

8. Would you still go through with it if you knew for sure there would be absolutely NOTHING after dying? No hell, heaven, an afterlife, reincarnation, etc.
Thing is, I don't know for sure. Non-existence after death is just one of many possibilities. We don't know if that's true. Either way, I despise my current predicament, so I want out. That's all.

9. Would you still go through with it if that meant your entire existence would go away? All the memories, everything. "If you kill yourself, no one will attend your funeral because nobody was aware of your existence, as that will be washed out from everyone's head the minute you die." - What would you say?
That's obviously not going to happen, so I am just going to give you the straight answer - my death is going to strongly impact my mom. And she's going to go crazy when I die.

10. Is there anything or anyone at all who could you change your decision?
If my mistakes were erased as if nothing had happened, I would definitely do better and vow to never commit them again. Otherwise, I refuse to live with the fact that I had been blacklisted from voice acting, so I welcome death with grace.

All the answer to that questions is NO, NO from #2 through #10, all NO. The only Yes is #1. IF only my toddler son come back to life, then I will stop sucidial and continue living. My son is dead, unless I can go back in time or if he come back to life, that is the ONLY way for me to not kill myself.

If you don't want to answer),what is your physical illness?
Sending you all the best!

i'm still figthing to get a diagnosis, the medical system sucks badly in my country and they refuse to diagnose me because it has either no cure or no real treatment or they simply don't care, even if my health is rapidly declining and other doctors have mentioned some illnesses that could explain why i'm suffering.

it is something like ehlers danlos or marfan, probably something else. i'm contacting some geneticist to see if i can pay out of my own pocket and finally get some answers, even if there is nothing that i could do i still want to know.

Thank you Sir, I do hope I find peace too, and the only way I can find peace is I plunge 1,000 feet free fall to my death, or put a shotgun to my skull and blast my head off.
My todder die in January, so 11 months already. He was very sick, he had terminal illness, the doctors said my son would't not live till 2 years old, and the doctors were right, he died when he was 1.5 years old, so he didn't make it to 2.

I have try to live without him, because I know he wouldn't want his mom to die with him, but I just couldn't do it. Every.single.day is I bawl and cry, the grief is killing me, the only way for me to truly be happy is death. Where I no longer have any conscious so I can forget my son has died.

I don't believe in afterlife, so I know when I plunge 1,000 feet to my death, my son won't come in spirit or soul or whatever to see me. I think once I jump, that it, it be over, we only have one life, and this life of mine is basically already over since my son died.

oh, and I want to CTB in January, the same date that my son took his last breath. But I can't go in January due to there be all those snow coming down, so if I plunge the soft snow will play as a cushion to help my fall. So I have to wait till snow melt, so I go in Spring.
Let hope this winter go fast, life has ZERO meaning, well to me it doesn't.

Unless Jesus or a highly evolved master like the buddha manifested right in front me and explained in simple language why I shouldnt do it, and if it actually made sense then I'd listen to them.

1. Would you still go through with it if you could bring 1 person back to live?
Undecided. If the person comes back as ill as they were before their death, then yes, I would still CTB.
2. Would you still go through with it if you knew that three people you knew (no specification on who exactly) would kill themselves right after you, leaving their loved ones behind?
This is something that I worry about all the time, so if this was 100% certain then I would likely hold off on suicide for as long as I would be able...but the suffering would be real.
3. Would you still go through with it if you suddenly became rich?
Of course! Now I can go out in high style and knock back that "Mixtura Nontherapeutica Secobarbital". This would make my decision even easier because I know that my family would benefit financially.
4. If you're physically sick rn, would you still go through with it if your physical illness suddenly disappeared?
Not applicable.
5. Would you still go through with it if you could choose exactly what your appearance looks like?
I would still CTB.
6. Would you still go through with it if you could make 1 wish, being able to wish for literally anything and if so, what would be your wish?
If it was possible for my wish to be granted then I would not. I would wish that no one would have suffer and feel so much anguish that they would choose to CTB.
7. Would you still go through with it if you could do the last 10 years all over again with all the knowledge you have now?
While retaining the knowledge I have now and being able to make myself into a proper human being who isn't a net negative? I would take that chance and not CTB.
8. Would you still go through with it if you knew for 1000% sure there would be absolutely NOTHING after dying? No Hell, Heaven, an afterlife, reincarnation, etc. etc.
I wish that this wasn't the case, because it seems like such a waste (even if I were to die of old age). I am also selfish and I love the idea of being reunited with love ones in paradise...Unfortunately, I don't believe this to be the case and I am going to CTB anyway so this does not change anything at all.
9. Would you still go through with it if that meant your entire existence would go away? All the memories, everything. "If you kill yourself, no one will attend your funeral because nobody was aware of your existence, as that will be washed out from everyone's head the minute you die." - What would you say?
This seems ideal if I am being honest. I would definitely CTB.
10. Is there anything or anyone at all who could you change your decision?
I don't know. No one/nothing comes to mind, but there is probably some non-zero chance (albeit the slimmest of one).

1. Yeah
2. three people? idk.
3. Probably but bit later down the road
4. Doesn't apply
5. Yep
6. Nah. I'd wish for ecstasy
7. Maybe
8. 100% yes.
9. What would I say? HOORAY! Cheers to that haha!
10. Probably and most likely no but I wouldn't be able to say who or what with certainty. I'm almost sure there's a right person + environment + treatment that could be that sweet spot everyone is looking for.

Nothing would make me not do this. I'm physically sick and I've been like this for 14 years. Since I was 20. I'm 34 now and feel old as shit because I didn't get to experience any if those years. They were just stolen from me. I don't like the person I've become because if this. It's just too much time lost to start over again. I don't have the mind or the experience of a 34 year old woman so I wouldn't fit in with society well. Just too much lost time.

And we're all going to die at some point anyway and if there is nothing after this there's nothing we can do about it. And I'm not having a funeral but if I did and no one came why would I care? I wouldn't even know.

If I suddenly had 10 million dollars in my bank account, I think I could be persuaded to stay alive....

As for the specific questions:

1. Would you still go through with it if you could bring 1 person back to live?

Yes

2. Would you still go through with it if you knew that three people you knew (no specification on who exactly) would kill themselves right after you, leaving their loved ones behind?

Yes

3. Would you still go through with it if you suddenly became rich?

No (see above)

4. If you're physically sick rn, would you still go through with it if your physical illness suddenly dissapeared?

N/A

5. Would you still go through with it if you could choose exactly what your appearance looks like?

Yes

6. Would you still go through with it if you could make 1 wish, being able to wish for literally anything and if so, what would be your wish?

No---the wish would be to turn back time

7. Would you still go through with it if you could do the last 10 years all over again with all the knowledge you have now?

No....I would give anything to do the last 10 years over again. Anything.

8. Would you still go through with it if you knew for 1000% sure there would be absolutely NOTHING after dying? No Hell, Heaven, an afterlife, reincanation, etc. etc.

Yup---kinda hoping for nothingness, actually...cause I'm nervous I'll end up in hell

11. Would you still go through with it if that meant your entire existence would go away? All the memories, everything. "If you kill yourself, no one will attend your funeral because nobody was aware of your existence, as that will be washed out from everyone's head the minute you die." - What would you say?

Yup---my whole life feels like a mistake anyway so I'd be good with it being wiped out altogether

10. Is there anything or anyone at all who could you change your decision?

Going back in time or suddenly having millions of dollars

No

Yes

5. Would you still go through with it if you could choose exactly what your appearance looks like?
Yes gotta have a pretty corpse!

6. Would you still go through with it if you could make 1 wish, being able to wish for literally anything and if so, what would be your wish?
Idk if I could make a wish I think at this point I would just convince myself I wouldn't deserve it.

7. Would you still go through with it if you could do the last 10 years all over again with all the knowledge you have now?
oh god! why would you make me do it again!

8. Would you still go through with it if you knew for 1000% sure there would be absolutely NOTHING after dying? No Hell, Heaven, an afterlife, reincanation, etc. etc.

I am hoping for nothing after I die I want to feel everything I ever tried for fade into nothing.

9. Would you still go through with it if that meant your entire existence would go away? All the memories, everything. "If you kill yourself, no one will attend your funeral because nobody was aware of your existence, as that will be washed out from everyone's head the minute you die." - What would you say?

  1. I don't know who I would bring back so yes.
  2. No.
  3. Probably not.
  4. No.
  5. No.
  6. The richness and lack of illness is basically what I would wish for. Perhaps I'd wish for some sort of superpill that kills you peacefully almost instantly. Why not?
  7. Yes.
  8. Yes. Nothingness is a more comforting thought for me than an afterlife.
  9. Yes, sounds great.
  10. The above. Although the decision would become exponentially harder if my parents or friends caught wind of my plans.

1. Would you still go through with it if you could bring 1 person back to live? Yes.
2. Would you still go through with it if you knew that three people you knew (no specification on who exactly) would kill themselves right after you, leaving their loved ones behind? Yes.
3. Would you still go through with it if you suddenly became rich? How rich? Rich enough to never have to work again, pay of my loved ones debts and have intensive therapy for decades to come? I would consider giving that a shot at least.
4. If you're physically sick rn, would you still go through with it if your physical illness suddenly dissapeared? Not physically sick.
5. Would you still go through with it if you could choose exactly what your appearance looks like? I'm okay with the way I look, so yes I'd still go through with it.
6. Would you still go through with it if you could make 1 wish, being able to wish for literally anything and if so, what would be your wish? Yes, because Djinns cannot give you true love.
7. Would you still go through with it if you could do the last 10 years all over again with all the knowledge you have now? Yes, especially if I had the knowledge I have now.
8. Would you still go through with it if you knew for 1000% sure there would be absolutely NOTHING after dying? No Hell, Heaven, an afterlife, reincanation, etc. etc. Whatever is beyond death cannot be worse than life, including nothingness. Nothingness is actually appreciated.
9. Would you still go through with it if that meant your entire existence would go away? All the memories, everything. "If you kill yourself, no one will attend your funeral because nobody was aware of your existence, as that will be washed out from everyone's head the minute you die." - What would you say? Yes. I already have no one who will come to my funeral voluntarily out of love.
10. Is there anything or anyone at all who could you change your decision? Yes, there is one person who can change my mind, two if you would include myself, I could change my mind as well. But I prefer to die as me, the person I am, with my mind intact, rather than broken and struggling, knowing what I've lost.

Thank you so much for posting this, this was very thought provoking. I learned that I'm not a good person, that money would be something that could save me and that I am not willing to compromise for the love of my life, even if (and that's a big if) my death would hurt him. My own pain is more important to get rid of. But he has a lot of other reasons to live which I simply don't have anymore.
Be gentle with yourself. <3
