  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

@http-410 Why you would not upload encrypted personal data to cloud? I used to upload personal data password-protected with Winrar.
Winrar passwords can be cracked.
That's why storage containers like the ones on VeraCrypt are the best solution

@LunarPyotr I saw cheap OneDrive and Google Drive accounts on Aliexpress but since you mentioned they can be disabled it's not good.

The police won't look into your stuff unless it's treated as suspicious.

Your family will be able to collect your stuff, or will have already obtained your phone/laptop/ whatever.

That would make things easier for you, lucky one. I have to worry about my parents and my spouse get into court.
Are you saying you think your parents or spouse would be taken to court for what would be found or that they would get access granted to them through the court?

Yeah, they probably would because they would want to know if you really ctb.
Last year when I tried to ctb and ended up in a coma, they were suspicious of my dad! I couldn't believe it!

Next time I try to ctb, I'll leave lots of videos behind explaining that I ctb. I could even record my death so that they have no doubts about it.

Still, I would break my dad's heart so, I dunno if I'll ever be able to ctb! :(

I'd VeraCrypt your entire machine. That way if you do leave us, the key dies with you and your data (at least your local data) is useless. On the other hand, if you get saved and/or don't go through with it you can still get back in. As far as online accounts go, I'd recommend closing all but the absolute essentials well in advance (up to 30 days in advance in some cases!). That way there's no question of people gaining access to anything.

As for phones and tablets, if it has boot-time encryption (EG Samsung Knox, whatever encryption Apples have etc.) I'd recommend turning that on too, and setting actual passwords for unlocking, no face ID, patterns or fingerprints. Law enforcement can't break most phone encryptions without some major effort (and even after disassembling your phone in some cases), so that should prevent your family, friends etc. seeing something you'd rather they didn't.

Well I mean, we probably shouldn't have that kind of stuff saved realistically because our things really arent as secure as we'd like to imagine in most cases. Even if we remain living we could have our personal images breached somehow and it would majorly suck.
Why would it matter, if we were to die, anyway?

Well I guess it wouldn't but I know a lot of people don't want to be remembered as someone with wacky stuff on their devices.
