So just yesterday, I heard that a friend of a friend had died suddenly at a young age (late 30s/early 40s). My first thought was either suicide or cancer or something like that. Turns out he had a pulmonary blood clot that hit him really fast. He was all alone at his house and was found died several days after it happened with only his dog right near him. It was sad to read about about but I also couldn't help but feeling good for him that it came quick and hopefully didn't have to suffer a long, painful death. At least that is what I gathered. If so, really makes you think when you read all these stories about how painful and risky it can be to go about CTB, something like this can happen and in a flash, you go from here to gone.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, thoughts and prayers to you. I know exactly what you're talking about, from Here to Gone... pretty crazy.

I recently lost a friend of mine about 2months ago. Was 45yrs old and dropped dead about 3wks after he was diagnosed with Stage 4 ( maybe 3 idk ) Pancreatic cancer. Puts things into perspective to say the Least. I hope and pray they both didn't feel any pain.

Thank you for sharing this. 🙏

It is crazy to think that something like this could sneak up on you at any time. You never know. As a pessimist and as the type of person who uses this kind of forum, I tend to expect that I will not meet a quick and unexpected death at a young age like that. I imagine I will live long and suffer. I tend to imagine that good people are the ones who go this way. Whenever someone dies young like your friend, it seems tragic, and I tend to imagine they were great people whose lives were cut short, because they were too good for this world or something. We must all memento mori, this could happen at any time. What are we really going to do about it?
