Public Suicide

Have any of you considered public suicide before? I decided long ago that I wanted to commit suicide with a gun, as any other method seems to painful or too risky for me. I've been fantasizing about going to my local indoor shooting range, renting a gun (probably a rifle), and blowing my brains out right then and there. I wish I could buy a gun and die in the comfort of my own home, but my mom is super anti-gun and would probably lose her shit if I brought one into the house, especially if I had ammo for it, so that would be difficult. I know public suicide is seen as kind of a shitty thing to do, and I feel a bit bad about the idea of traumatizing innocent people for life, but my pain is so great that it makes it hard to think too much about that. However, my death would still be traumatizing for those around me regardless of whether it was public or not. I don't know, I'm just so desperate for my pain and misery to end at this point, even if it will inevitably affect others.

Could you not hide the gun in your vehicle? Don't traumatize other people with that.

I don't have a vehicle. Hell, I don't even have my license. Btw, I don't have any imminent plans on doing a public suicide, it's just something I've thought about.

I can't imagine that you'd be able to pull that off at a shooting range. You'd have to hope to get a strong enough gun, otherwise you'd have to aim carefully... and that wouldn't be possible in a heat-of-the-moment public suicide. And if you don't aim right, people will certainly call 911 immediately. I mean, there would be people everywhere, and a surpising amount of those people might know first aid—enough to keep you from bleeding out at least.

I've thought of livestreaming myself catching the bus, if that counts. I'd want to at least get the livestream to my ex and my old friendgroup once I do.

Out of necessity yes, my main plan originally was to jump off Beachy Head which is very public. I went there and couldn't do it though because I was too afraid. My backup method is standing in front of a train which will inevitably be pretty public.

I have considered making a public statement with my suicide...

But in the end, I'd prefer it to be a private ritual. Go out with a bit of dignity. I can picture it now. It's peaceful, sedated and intoxicated under a night sky by candle light.

Don't be selfish. Consider the impact you will have on others. Is your last action in life going to be potentially traumatising whoever witnesses you? Keep it private.
