being discriminated every-time by this individuals who think others can't think critically just because they hold another degree. Argh, it sucks to be mentally ill in such a fake and ill world like this. Suicide prevention shit but the professionals in the field are the first one to be rude and discriminate among other stuff to its patient. This hell people give pills that almost kill and make sick to people and they hold no accountability at all. They do no research at all, you ask them about correlations and scientific research about some topic and they say they don't know shit, but the studies are there for them to read, they just dont give t fucks. And ok, lets accept they dont but why the hypocrisy saying they want people alive when they the first ones to push them to their own death and disgrace. F them all. I am sorry for 1% that might be super great professionals, but who cares in a world like this??

Yeah. People that never experienced mental illness can never understand a person who has it.
They just cant. Also people who don't understand that every brain is different shouldn't work there.

PS: Phyciatric clinics are just place holders in society. They can't help you , they just need to be there so you can have the illusion that you can get help

Sometimes it feels like these professions could and should be automated and replaced with AI. The 'help' follows a crude formula and involves a narrow toolbox of generic solutions, which just get pushed harder and harder if the particular individual is a square peg in a round hole.

Even if a situation is hopeless, or they don't have a genuine solution, they will never admit it. It's just a game of psychological gymnastics to keep the person in the same place.

Holy shit yes. I'm blown away by how incompetent and reckless they are. They blame all sorts of medication side effects on "anxiety and depression" when it is completely obvious that these symptoms only started after taking the medication. And the worst part is that nobody other than people who also had experience with psychiatrists will believe you, and you'll be gaslit by everyone. They get away with it because who are people going to believe, the "doctors" or the "mentally ill"? It's terrible.

They don't seem equipped to handle anything that isn't a short term problem. They exist for people with mild to moderate depression and anxiety. Anything more complex than that and you realize they can't help much.

Not even getting into all the side effects from the medications that get brushed off.

It's rare to meet a psychiatrist who doesn't throw a bunch of pills at you. I remember when I was hospitalized, they gave me pills for people with personality disorders ... Even though I was never diagnosed with said disorders (just severe anxiety and depression). Those pills ended up damaging my eyesight. And when I told those fuckers my vision was blurry, they didn't believe me. They gaslit me and now I no longer have 20/20 vision.

To be fair, few Dr's experience their patients problems personally. It is not like a flight instructor who knows the gritty details of their subject or a mechanic that can find and fix a problem.
Psychiatry is more art than anything else.
Having empathy and listening along with a good education gives them the basic skills needed to be good. Not all succeed.
A patients illness, its severity, home and work life along with body chemistry are all variables they must weigh when deciding on a treatment.
At this, some are outright terrible. Do not be afraid to get a second opinion.

Psychiatrists are worms. All they are is a distributor for criminal pharmaceutical "companies". They are not doctors at all. Firstly when someone winds up at psychiatry the first thing they should do is rule out any and all of the numerous illnesses that can cause mental symptoms so that those could be treated to solve the issue but no, they go straight to filling you with incredibly harmful chemicals instead. I've spoken to so many people who went to a psychiatrist for feeling low and anxious and were drugged to kingdom come only to later find out they had thyroid problems or low testosterone, or any number of other disorders that were most likely the cause in the first place. Not only did they not get prompt treatment for their conditions but they are now destroyers by " medications."

They don't even know how the drugs work either. They regurgitate whatever bullshit that the pharmaceutical companies claim but none of them even understand their own product but they are dishing it out to millions. They should literally all be hung. The damage done is too great on such a massive scale I can't even speak of it in terms that aren't extreme. They have cost countless lives and they deserve the death penalty.

When benzodiazepines first were being given out for nervousness they swore they were not habit forming. It wasn't until a lawsuit that they would even admit withdrawal could happen. Benzo withdrawal can fucking kill you. Its literally the worst thing to withdrawal from. Now it is also well known that it causes cognitive impairment p, especially in long term use. The following is from Oxford research on adverse effects of psychiatric medications.....

"The long-term effects of benzodiazepine use can include cognitive impairment as well as affective and behavioural problems. Feelings of turmoil, difficulty in thinking constructively, loss of sex-drive, agoraphobia and social phobia, increasing anxiety and depression, loss of interest in leisure pursuits and interests, and an inability to experience or express feelings can also occur."

During the 90's they were dishing these out at a fever pitch. The whole time saying how safe they were. Not just psychiatrists either. Gp's, the ER, everyone. So much damage was done that you don't see benzodiazepines being used much at all, yet the whole time these "learned professionals" were 100 percent confident in what they were doing and could not have been more wrong. NEVER trust these steaming piles of shit. They have visible stink lines waving violently over their empty heads.

Sorry for the long post.

The only time they believe you or listen to you is if you have expressed a positive reaction. They completely deny any problems you relate that appeared after the meds. The only way they can learn about the effects, especially long term effects as none of the studies the pharmaceutical companies do are longer than weeks, is to listen to what the patients are experiencing. But they don't because they wouldn't have such an easy and overpaid job handing out poison for big pharma. If the damage these drugs truly do was ever addressed they would be pulled from the shelves. They would have no jobs. They are the sickest fucks that walk the face if this earth.

They have a job because malpractice and their theory can rarely be proven and they can deny it all exists.
You can't see a broken Or damaged mind like you can broken arm.

It's all theory and they have freedom to screw folks up with little to no consequences.

I used to have a cool shrink. Then he retired and later died. My current one is basically just someone I legally buy my psych meds from. Average appointment time: less than thirty seconds. Money in shrink's pocket: $150 (he does not take insurance). Every three months. It's all such a joke.

Where I live psychiatrists think they are pharmacists, pharmacists think they are doctors, and primary care doctors think they are psychiatrists.

I relate to your experience with the mental health system. I still don't understand whether the time, money and effort I spent into getting psychiatric help for a year was more helpful or harmful to me, or if it was worthwhile. I do hate the lack of informed consent in the treatment, even though I made it clear from the beginning that I wanted to play an active part in my treatment. But I didn't get what I sought, and to think that I paid for it.... it is saddening.

I think what I want at this point is the friendship of someone who has the skills of a psychiatrist or psychologist, but not their license. That ay they will be free of the obligations of mandatory reporting or involuntary treatment or whatever, and could just help me out whatever way they could.
