How do I get my psych to not push psych meds on me. I don't tolerate them.

She seems not to believe me.

I wrote about my failed taper of a benzo before and ahole prior psych.

as long as you are not under some treatment order, you can safely refuse any medications they offer you.

though a psychiatrist will always try to push medication onto you. if you want to try therapy I'd suggest a psychologist or counsellor. these people usually aren't allowed to prescribe medications at all.

I am in therapy with a psychologist, but am back on the benzo.

Don't want her to call me non-compliant.

a good psychiatrist would take their patient's boundaries around medications seriously. if getting a new one isn't an option, and you are prescribed benzos anyway, you could always just pretend to take them. and report that you're experiencing the side effects you know you would have if you do take them.

just fill the prescription and keep a stash of them at home every repeat.

Can they test your blood to check if they are in your system like with lithium?

I don't want her to try and put me on an antipsychotic either.

My side effects are ones were I would have to discontinue like they always have been. Severe myoclonic jerks.

I don't know where you live but in general you should be able to refuse any kind of treatment if you don't want it. I don't think that anyone should be forced to take certain meds or forced into a certain treatment if they reject it.

theoretically yes but the reason they check for lithium is because the dosage is very important. it's not as critical for benzos so they probably will never check your blood for benzos. even if a blood test is ordered for different reasons (liver or kidney function for instance) the lack of benzos in your blood is unlikely to even be noticed as this is not the standard test for benzo use. it's usually a urine test.

I take my benzo. That's not an issue. I don't want to take an ssri, snri, tri, tetra, or antipsychotic

Pregnenolone helps gaba, also magnesium. 80% of people are magnesium deficient.

try mag glycinate, malate, etc not citrate or oxide.

preg resensitizes gaba receptors

research nutraceuticals, avoid the pharma its all bad news.

Yes, mag glycinate rev'd me.

Nutraceuticals are ultra high dose vitamins that messed someone up on a benzo.

Im still on the benzo!
