  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

For those that have been admitted to the psych ward as well (voluntarily or not).

Did the psychiatrist read you correctly or not? I feel like they're just guessing and have no idea what they're doing

No they did not. In the psychward I was in last summer you were pretty much guaranteed to get a bipolar diagnosis no matter your symptoms.

Here they don't do any diagnosis. When you try to talk to them about condition x or y they try to come up with reasons why you shouldn't have it and not having 1 symptom unfortunatly doesn't mean you don't have the condition but they invalidate your feelings and thought all the way through i feel like.

My psychiatrist at the psych ward was completely incompetent as well. They asked me what I've been diagnosed with and they didn't even know what one of them was (Dissociative Identity Disorder). They also withheld my meds the first three days and switched all the dosages around. It was honestly astounding as to how bad they fucked up. I'm sorry you had a similar experience :[

No way. They're just there to push medication of some kind on you. That's all they are really trained to do as well as making a snap diagnosis on the spot. One of the last times I was at one the doctor literally became frustrated on all the medication recommendations they were trying to give me. I've been on almost all of them at some point. Everything they would recommend I would tell them what my experience was which was usually paradoxical side effects. Example, if it was a anti-psychotic which is supposed to keep you calm like Seroquel it did the opposite and put me into a rage. For whatever reason medications do that to me. That or I get really bad side effects like rashes or even at one point one made me hear delusions and I am in no way a schizophrenic. They never understand that. They find me a difficult patient. What I want is basically the opposite of their bullshit profession, which is to get the fuck off this planet.

The psychiatrists use the "DSM" manual as their guide. You have to meet a certain number of "criteria" of a disorder before you are diagnosed with that disorder. Each disorder has a code number. That code number is used for insurance billing. That's basically how it works.
But the Dr must assess this criteria which can differ between Drs. Their opinions can differ depending on the Dr. 🤗🌹

I was in psych ward for 6 months. They tried pretty much all the antidepressants and all the antipsychotics on me and they never worked. They pushed me to accept that i am bipolar when I never had ups, only deep depression. Horrible experience. Plus they let me out of the psych ward after 6 months when I was in the most suicidal state. Bunch of lunatics...

They're definitely guessing and they definitely don't know what they're doing. They need to get real jobs.
