I was put on fluoxetine, clomipramine, olanzapine, queitapine and clonazepam, all of which can cause sexual dysfunction, and it was total dysfunction which I experienced after the first few doses. So, basically there's no chance of recovery for me, right?PSSD is one of the reasons I'm here.
Well I was on an SSRI for a decade, so I know that I'm screwed, but if you were only on those meds for a short-while then I think your prospect of recovery is a lot higher. I wouldn't give up hope just yet when it comes to your condition.I was put on fluoxetine, clomipramine, olanzapine, queitapine and clonazepam, all of which can cause sexual dysfunction, and it was total dysfunction which I experienced after the first few doses. Thanks but I think you're just being too nice. There are hardly any recovery stories and it has hardly anything to do with how long they were on this shit. People develop this after a few doses(like me) and despite them stopping immediately after noticing the side effects, many have been affected for years. I continued to take these poisons for up to 8 months because the "knowledgeable" doctors assured that it would go away.Well I was on an SSRI for a decade, so I know that I'm screwed, but if you were only on those meds for a short-while then I think your prospect of recovery is a lot higher. I've heard of a couple of people where it went away but you're right that any positive developments are uncommon. From my personal observation it's people that have been on drugs for under a year that have the highest likelihood of improvement (even if 'high' ultimately translates to 'incredibly slim').Thanks but I think you're just being too nice. These same doctors did the same to me , and these meds are truly poison, they rewire your brain and after quitting them it would take the brain years to recover but sometimes it cant recoverknowledgeable" doctors
Thanks for the input. I have terrible OCD and anxiety which led to a severe depressive episode in late 2018 after failing an exam. I've recovered somewhat only now. Terrified of going back. Also the PSSD issue is very demotivating. I don't even go out of the house now. Just fuck everything, man. I'm ready to pull the plug.I can only imagine the feeling to have to drop out, but I believe my intention would be to go back and try again if it were me (at 25 years ago..).
If I thought I needed to switch degree courses to something less stressful and less difficult, but still related and in medical I may have decided doing that.. Could that be a possibility?
I took Paxil once for about three weeks. It gave me erectile dysfunction where nothing would or could happen. I was only on it a short time, but everything did go back to normal for me. I hope the same for you, with whatever pssd problems are those medicines have caused you. I think and hope it is still possible for you.
If you are a guy? Have you tried ED medication to see if it may be able to help for right now?
I have researched this and I know of people who have had PSSD for 20+ years after taking the meds less than a week. I know of people with PSSD for 10+ years after a single pill. There's research going on about the mechanism but it most likely is because of epigenetic changes which can't be reversed with our current technology. Were you to actually search you would see the how ridiculous the idea that you have permanent and irreparable sexual disfunction after a few doses
My native language is not english plus i have a brain injury I can't write / express myself that easily. but there's no cure for pssd. do some research before making those comments.Epigenetic changes that can't be reversed by existing technology? Geez... Simply string in words together does not a logical statement make.
Im absolutely calling bullshit on OP in med school in a developed country.
Fck PSSD I will go out partly because of this, but also because other docs have done me wrong. I'm done.My native language is not english plus i have a brain injury I can't write / express myself that easily. but there's no cure for pssd. do some research before making those comments.
