  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I just read about a man in Italy who, after years of legal battle, was granted the right to ctb. Just so you'll know, this person was paralyzed and trapped in a bed for over 10 years. He was always in pain and felt useless for not being able to do anything by himself.
In the comment section, I stumbled upon some fucked up pro-lifers who, despite all of his suffering, were wasting their time and energy in calling him a "coward". "Oh, his wishes were against the will of God!" Fuck. How inhumane you have to be to see a guy in a situation like that and still be capable of judging him? That's just way too fucked up.
No, he's not going to "hell" because he was already living in hell! Earth can be a hell in itself for many of us. These idiots simply do not understand what it's like to wake up anxious every day. They don't know what's like to lose everything they love. They're a bunch of idiots, saying to us how life is "pretty" from the backyard of their perfect houses with their perfect families. A bunch of lunatics who are incapable of looking at life from another perspective that's not theirs.

I'm gonna be honest here. The right to die should be universal. No one should be forced to live in this horrible place that's Earth. Guess what? We'll keep buying SN and killing ourselves. You can't stop that, you degenerates. Life can take my money, my girlfriend and my happiness, but it won't take death from me!

You're talking about a country who still finds people guilty until innocent. Poor guy had to wait a decade to get it. The God complex of the government is why people like him suffer.

You're reacting to comment section pro-lifers? Guess what, they're exactly as ignorant and terrible as comment section pro-deathers. If you haven't noticed, the internet—aside from researched articles that are posted—is a cess pit of bottom feeders. It's designed that way. Nuanced, sensible discussions get no eyeballs. It's the screaming-meemies that rule. That applies here too…

That really is so terrible. To be pro life means to be pro suffering. It is really cruel trying to force people to live against their wishes. Something could happen to the pro lifers to make them suicidal and then they would be wanting a peaceful exit. After all we live in a world with unlimited potential for suffering and things could get so much worse for anyone. Our right to die should always be respected and if someone decides to leave this world then that is their choice and there is nothing wrong with that.

I view euthanasia as a consensual murder, as in I can ask, but they can say no. Although they have a right to say no to a paralysed person, I think it makes them absolute dicks.

@Al Cappella fair enough, I guess. You're right. Even I can let my emotions dominate me sometimes. I guess it's part of the human nature.

@Shu No. I read a report news about it. It was in Portuguese, so you probably won't understand.

As it stands, I believe that life is what it is. We're all trapped here and people will tell us that it's our fault we're suffering. True in some cases, but not that simple.
