Hello,

I conducted an experiment as described in the forum in a similar forum:

- I searched for the pulse in the upper neck area with my hand
- The pulse was found there, in the upper neck area, relatively close to the jaw/chin, but not quite at the top of the neck, but slightly
below it (perhaps just under 0.8 inches)
- Moderately pressing on the spot where the pulse was found, on the left side with the middle and index fingers,
on the right side with the thumb, pressing with the fingertips (with fairly narrow fingertips)
- After 40 seconds, stopped; unconsciousness did not occur or even appear to be imminent.
- Attempt while lying down, sitting semi-upright, and sitting

Observe in the meantime:

- Slight pressure sensation in the eyes and face (veins were probably compressed at the same time)
- Slight disturbance of respiratory function
- Sometimes anatomical structures seem to interfere

----

Why did loss of consciousness not occur?

What can be done to repeat the experiment successfully this time? Use a ropeinstead of fingers? Press harder? Press longer?

-----

I would be grateful for any constructive suggestions.

Kind regards,
Suizident

You are not putting enough pressure on the carotid arteries. When I press, I almost lose consciousness in 10 seconds, but my muscles relax and my hands release my neck on their own. During this, I do not feel my body, I feel disoriented and have a strange pressure in my chest and mild cramps.

But this does not always work, I do not know why. It works especially well when I stand up abruptly and the blood temporarily flows away from my head or my pulse is elevated.

Recently I realized that by pressing on the arteries and in the direction slightly upwards towards the Jaw, they are squeezed more.

Slightly similar for me, but I feel literally nothing except a slight panic and feeling like I'm not breathing when I do it. Closest I got to doing it successfully was doing partial plus adding two tightly compacted shirt on the sides of my neck, but it only caused a slight pressure in my head. Subsequent practice attempts did nothing, even when adding more pressure. When using my fingers, my carotids always just move out of the way if I add too much pressure, but still cause the suffocation sensation without dizziness or loss of consciousness even after 2 minutes of holding the sensation, most likely due to an event when I was young that my cousin tried to choke me to death, and not due to the method working. My father (who has done martial arts since i was young) has tried to show me what a blood choke feels like once, but was unable to, even though he easily performs it on his coworkers. I am not overweight (and even a little underweight), so I do not see why this is the case, though I have a big adam's apple, so that may be an explanation. Does anyone have any advise to induce unconsciousness?

Hey, sorry for kinda necro-ing this post but I think I have a solution.

If you look up, your carotid arteries will be a lot more exposed. So, quite literally, put your chin up, find your common carotid arteries, and just squeeze.

You'll know when you're going unconscious, it's hard to describe, but your body will rather quickly become numb after a few seconds. Then your vision will darken quickly.

(Sorry if you've already tried this.)
