How does a delivery driver making just above the median income afford a home? They probably can't. But apparently I can. I'm purchasing it to get out of my apartment. The mortgage is gonna be about 60% of my income. That sucks, but rent is 50% of my income, so who cares. The problem I'll have is that I'll now have to pay for water, internet, and trash on top of electricity and water is a flat monthly fee. So a guy like me who barely uses water is still gonna pay $140 even if I use 2 gallons. Meh, at least I have a home.
Do I feel happy about this? No. I don't feel a thing. I don't feel excited. To me this just feels like another box I'm checking, especially given that I've still got a date set for myself. Should I feel happy? I mean, this was my dream. I bet it's the dream of many people on here. Here I am doing it and there's nothing there.
What do I do after I get the home and start living in my own space? What do I do once I'm able to sleep peacefully for once? I don't know. There's nothing. I guess I'm finally beginning to realize that my life really has no purpose or value so long as I'm chasing it. How does one's life become meaningful if you can't chase it? It finds you? Well, it won't find me.
