It is kind of counterintuitive, in my opinion.

I just thought about it. Considering the potential brain damage, in most cases, wouldn't it negatively influence our way of thinking, carefully planning things, or just living our daily lives (if trying to get by at the moment) if we kept on passing out, etc., and still ending up alive? Wouldn't it make us mess up our actual efforts in doing the actual thing?

I think that hanging should be really done only if everything needed is carefully prepared, and we've asked others about their experiences (failed ones, rather than practiced)

Hanging just sounds like such a risky method in general and it would be understandable wanting to practice but the fact that doing such a thing could create much more unbearable suffering really is so horrible. It's such a cruel punishment how we are denied the option of a way to exit existence reliably without risks and complications, failing ctb is exactly what I fear.
