Do you guys have plans for what should happen to your stuff and your body after death? Like having a funeral and a will for what should happen to your items and any money you have?

Hopefully most of this can be taken care of before I'm gone. There should only be a funeral/ cremation and nothing more.

I'm seriously considering ctb in a manner where my body isn't found. Don't ask because I don't even have it all planned, but something I'm tossing around. As for my stuff, I don't care.

I think it's good to make things easier for "survivors", if possible... but not to the point of obsessiveness.

I have scheduled detailed emails to be sent a week after I have ctb. Typically these have all the details of what needs to be done with whatever little I have left behind etc. It is always better to leave instructions and not confuse those left behind since they are already in a bad state that you have ctb.

What did they survivor?
Although I don't care for the term myself... My understanding is that friends/coworkers/family/etc. close to a person who committed suicide... are often referred to as "suicide 'survivors'".

Would like to be cremated, but most likely will be buried - oh well, I'll be dead, I won't care.

My belongings should be shared between two of my family members.

It makes me upset actually. What did they survive? I remember once I looked up suicide survivors to see what people who've attempt say but all I got was anything else. It's as ridiculous as "homicide survivors" when you weren't the one being killed

I'm having a green burial in a patch of woodland and my body will be taken there in a hand drawn bier (wooden cart). I've written up a list of songs I'd like at the funeral, I'd love my entrance song to be My Funeral - Dope lol.

Other than that, a good chunk of money will go be split between two of my friends and anything else can go towards funeral costs etc.

No funeral, no grave, no burial, it's a huge waste of money: if you need a ceremony to remember me, I wasn't worth being remembered in the first place and I don't need a group of people feigning grief and showing up out of courtesy just to be close to a rotting pile of biomass which used to be my vessel. Toss my dead body in a dumpster. I couldn't care less what people do with my old possessions, won't be alive to be upset about it anyway.

When I looked into it, a pre-arranged cremation is the cheapest option and involves no funeral or other BS. From memory, the cost was said to be about A$3,000.

In Australia, by default all possessions to go next of kin (parents or similar). Doing a legal will is pretty costly and they can be contested. I've decided not to bother.

As for other stuff, detailed instructions for other possessions does make sense to avoid valuables being discarded, etc.

When it comes to your funeral, I think you have the right to request how it goes. But I recommend you consider how funerals mostly function as a way to help the bereaved cope with your absence. So it might be better to leave them with some control over how it goes.
