Possible reaction to Primperan

Need people's opinion on a possible reaction to Primperan... Have you ever taken this before or known somebody to have a bad reaction to Primperan? As I took some Primperan and had a scary experience I became so agitated and dissociated that had to come home from visiting somewhere because I was feeling so bad. Couldn't pinpoint what was wrong. The Primperan did it's job for sure I didn't gag/go to vomit at all on two nasty tasting medications I usually gag on etc. So that was good.

But there is still that reaction. Now it could easily have been a withdrawal side effect when forget to take my Pregabalin that sometimes get, but even after taking it the agitation the dissociation was still there just reduced quite a bit in how it was effecting me. In your opinion does it sound like a side effect of Primperan? Or just a bad withdrawal dissociation episode?

Definitely withdrawal. I've been addicted to and abusing pregabalin aka. Lyrica for years and when I run out, I go thru severe withdrawal, including severe agitation and delusional episodes. That's what I would put my money on.

Domperidone is the next most effective anti emetic and least likely to cause EPS. I'm thinking to combine it with 16 mg of ondansetron. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domperidone I'm concerned about it being effective enough to prevent vomiting from the N though.

Does anyone know if A sells domperidone? I haven't heard back from him yet.

It's looking likely that will have test again and take pregabalin beforehand then we really will know whether it's withdrawal or bad reaction.

How much primperan did you take?

6 tablets - just to make sure they did the job.

Some people have bad reactions to it. Ondansetron is another anti-emetic.

I've tried meto today, 20 mg. did not get EPS,, but i felt like shit.. weak and slept for 3 hrs, wokeup had food , slept for another 2 hours. At a point.. i was unable to lift my hand... may be these effects differ from person to person.
Initially, i took 10 mg, (had breakfast immediately.. idk if that has any effect on it).. was not feeling anything except a bit sleepy. so, i took another 10 mg . thats when i felt so sleepy and weak.

Was the inability to lift your hand due to tiredness or it affecting your muscles? It is a strongass drug, not surprised you got sleepy at 20mg. ... update if you take it again!

I couldn't focus on a point, like a tight vibration of my eyes. Hmmm. I'm hesitant to take more and feel like these effects would just get stronger if I built it up, I have access to Domperidone but would really rather take the most effective stuff.. does anyone know of any cases of people succeeding with Domperidone instead of Meto, or is it a total unknown? Thanks.

Oof, this is all news to me and a bit of a worry. I was planning to have a test run with Primperan to see if I had any side effects. Best to be aware going in I guess. Would be interested in any info about alternatives.

No, its not tiredness. I was not feeling tired before taking it. i felt the weakness in muscles in my arm, and i felt too weak to get up and do anything, just slept for a long time. its not a good feeling.. i felt like shit really and felt a bit depressed too.
meto is available in 3 mg , 8 mg too? i thought the lowest was 10 mg.

you can substitute meto with domperidone for some methods , depends on the method you use.

I can't say whether domperidone is OK to use with the N method, but domperidone tablets are really small so there should be no need to crush. I've used domperidone in my recent attempt and will probably need to again.

I don't want to derail the thread with talk about me here, but domperidone is available OTC where I live, as are many other drugs like diazepam (not strictly legal, but not strictly enforced either)

If you mean extrapyramidal symptoms, domperidone is less likely to cause them.

Damn the meto side effects scare the hell out of me. Especially since I take Seroquel and the date I'm trying, I'll be on an airplane. I guess the 30mg an hour before is my only option but if there's s problem...I don't know.

I just took some Primperan for the first time ever this past Tuesday.
I took 3 of them and then an hour later I took 4 more.
An hour after taking the first 3 I didn't feel any different at all. I had no idea if they were working or not.
About 30 minutes after taking the 4 I started to get all jittery.
I was lying in bed tossing and turning with my whole body being all fidgety nonstop for about 4 hours before I started to calm down and fall asleep.
It was very uncomfortable and impossible for me to lye still and relax.
I ended up sleeping and lying in bed for the next 36 hours.
Every time I got up during that time I was extremely tired and weak and had to quickly go lye back down.
I only ate a couple pieces of toast during that time and lost 10 lbs.
I would say that it took at least 48 hours to get the stuff out of my system and get my energy and appetite back .

You had side effects of it.
Try domperidon maybe that works better for you without side effects.

Just read this again. I guess it is safe to say that if you feel agitated and restless from 2.5mg of meto that you shouldn't bother ...? Even a tenth of the stat dose makes me feel like shit, impossible to sleep etc

Sort of defeats the purpose of N if you have to suffer through the side effects of this crap. With domperidone I had only a heaviness and numbness, but no agitation or anxiety.
