I voted no. As odd as it sounds, as much as I want to live and feel good... I've been suicidal for so long that I don't know who I am without it.

And then what? would this miracle pill fix the fact that I am subhuman and seen as such by others? would this pill miraculously make me employed? Would it make me loveable?

Also what people forget about Ozempic is that a lot of people have strong adverse reactions to Ozempic.

a pill to take a way suicidal ideation would be interesting. though i dont know, it wouldnt actually take away my problems, just make me not want to die? so i dont know. at the least i would be very curious about it. if it could also give me energy and motivation, and take away my anxiety, maybe.

No. I fear the day I stop feeling like ctb. Cause I feel like shit. This pill won't change how I struggle to breath, how my bones scream in agony or how my mind spirals after one wrong step. Now I am just miserable, but I can't do anything at all about it. I remember one day I didn't feel like dying. Shit hit the fan right after that and my life reminded me, why I should never get hope. I'd much rather take antidepressants that actually work, but I can't find

I'd be interested, but I'd look up side effects first and make a judgement call. Ozempic is very effective but has adverse side effects, surely a miracle mental health drug would also have a host of side effects. I think a big factor would be if it's a one-and-done solution (take it for an acute period and then you're cured and don't have to take it again) or if I'd be stuck taking it for life. Ozempic for example I've heard a lot of people that use it for weight loss need to stay on it or they gain all their weight back because the behaviors / situation surrounding the problem were never resolved, just masked.

better to stay on it than be obese. If you need to brush your teeth every day to avoid cavities, then its best to just accept it and keep brushing. Unless the side effects are severe enough or there is a better solution, I think medications should be viewed the same way

Saw a similar thread a while back talking about winning the lottery, so made me think

Yes/No? If there was a medication like Ozempic/Wegovy but for suicidal ideation/planning/attempts, would you take it?
I'm still 50/50 ambivalent about recovery and ctb. I'm engaged with the public mental health team, therapy, medication
Haven't been locked up in a psych ward again (yet lol)

A magic pill, injection, or treatment you take every week that makes everything just feel better, without long term bad side effects.

Yes for me cause I like trying new things I have done most party drugs under the sun when I was in university.
But I'm just young and dumb lol

Keen to see the answers, and read your reasons why/why not

What's the use of a "magic pill" that doesn't solve the underlying problem that makes me suicidal? If I need to win the lottery to have the means to live the life I want to live a "magical pill" that makes my brain think - "life is great, everything's alright and couldn't be any better" - won't solve the issue. The illusions induced by the pill (aka drugs" won't solve the initial issue.

No because my suicidality rests in part on philosophical grounds. It's wrapped up in my belief system and worldview. Getting rid of it would mean returning to ignorance, putting the rose-coloured glasses back on. Yes it makes me miserable to see through the veil, but I can't imagine going back and unseeing it, in the same way that most people would want to know if their spouse was cheating on them, even if it would make them miserable.

I voted true neutral because it depends on whether this thing will fix my problems? Otherwise that sounds like your stuck in this terrible world with memory erase
This. I would take it if it fixes my problems but that would require more than a magic pill or it would truly br magical to the point of time travel or something.

Not sure. I would take it if it not only improved my life quality but also made me functional. I think I should tick Fuck yes. But I still have concerns.

I would hope it would also improve my living conditions. If it made me able to earn money I would take it for sure.

I am not sure if this take is too nihilistic. But what if I end up homeless, family dead for some reasons friends disappeared. And the only thing that keeps me alive were the pills. I think many on here are also experience the shit life syndrome like me. I have the feeling I would become delusional if I was happy no matter how bad my living conditions become.

First I actually thought you referred to pills that make your suicidal thoughts go away. Or SI. But it didn't make much sense in recovery.

I would like to give the pills you described a chance but I also was anxious about their effects.

Probably no.

Would the medication somehow prevent all these terrible things that are going in the world? Would this medication just allow me to ignore all that?

We fix the what causes the issues in the first place instead of applying bandaids.

I have a lot of reservations about the medical system and I tend to fixate on the 5% worst outcomes of anything. I think it's more about what information is available vs what actually happens. Yes, I can take a miracle mental health drug, and it works, but then I learn after already taking it for 20 years that it causes pancreatic cancer. I guess I got to live a decent life if I otherwise would have just killed myself, but it also would have been nice to know...

My suicidality is due to an unlivable environment (loneliness) and medication can't help that.

Hm... neutral.

Yes, because I hate when the ctb thoughts return at random times and maybe ruin an otherwise good day.

No, because those thoughts are often the only thing that keep me going (ironically), because knowing I have at least one way out of everything else fails often gives me the strength I need to not ctb. (Weird, I know)

Suicidal planning/ideation is a reaction to my environment, taking a pill to make that go away is addressing the symptom not the cause, so no, because my life would still be fuck-all crap except now I'm medicating to suffer and live with that indefinitely instead of getting the hell out of here or something. What is the point?
