This comes from a discussion in the chat rooms. It seems there's an awfully high amount of people here who have had legal troubles in the past.
Maybe this high number of people reflects on how broken the legal system is to force us into depression as it stops us from moving on with our pasts, getting better and working normal jobs.

Whats your experience or thoughts on why theres a high percentage of people on SaSu that have had trouble with the law. Is there a correlation/causation ?

a good point was raised the people with MH issues tend to have disproportionate issues with police rather than getting help they get cops.

AI seems to suggest the poll should be 10% legal issues vs 90% clean record (based on Europe averages)

Yes, and indeed the legal system is a f***ing joke!
I've been in legal trouble for trying to defend my family against mass murderers.
They're non-human and thus not my biological family, obviously, but my only family nonetheless. I would have given my life for each one of them.
Then the mass murderer who had just shot someone at the park accused me of "threatening" him, while he had a live firearm he had just used to kill someone and all I had was a flashlight that doubles as a baton.
The legal system is a joke because it condones mass murder and holocaust and fails to protect the most innocent and defenseless, such as entirely harmless little animals.

Speciesism needs to go the same way as racism, which also once used to be considered "normal", and it's been a long hard road to change that, and that road is still way longer for speciesism and has barely even been started yet.
And that's why I'm supposed to be a "criminal" and mass murderers are getting full protection from the law.

I can remember a former longterm members was joking about it.
There is like a dichotomy on SaSu users. The ones that have a guilty conscience holding an apple in Supermarket too long (when not buying me) and the ones who have fantasies to do the most horrible crimes (e.g. wanting to drive people to ctb) and who are open and honest about that. I think this anecdote was told in The Sanctuary in a confession thread.

Personally, I am a very law-abiding citizen. And being on SaSu is one of the most dangerous things I do in this instance. When the police arrived to intervene in my suicide attempt they spotted that very quickly. They also joked about that. I didn't act up I didn't protest. This is simply the job of these people. Whatever...

Same here... i feel for you. if i CTB it will be because of my legal issues too. I dont feel how i can recover or cope being branded a criminal when all i needed at the time was help. I wanna CTB before my life crashes too with my case i dont wanna face standing in a room i might not leave and a decade of issues that come with it all plus losing my job everything. its just crazy disproportionate in my eyes it seemed minor but they make it out to be serious. and what can i do scream its unfair and i did nothing wrong well then ill get more time or id make it worse so im under duress here. theres nothing i can do other than to end it all its my only way to peace out of this. I could have easily been left alone by the cops lived my life paid into the system but no. this is murder its not a suicide in my eyes im pushed into this.

"life is going on" that hits hard. when you see life moving on without you tv shows, news, youtube videos, friends meeting up while your life has stopped. its a feeling i cant describe to you. like you dont matter and how small you are. sure i know logically i dont effect my fave tv shows but just seeing it continue on like nothing is wrong without you. it hits. the ones who notice this are the ones close to the edge

I was in the psychiatric hospital for a couple of month (2 or 3 month). Mobile phones were allowed and we got a TV, BUT no connections were availaible. It was a pain in the ass to have the possibilities, but no access...
I drawd a lot in this time, to blend out the others (they were sure maniacs...).
With my clear thaughts I was pretty alone there.
I saw, there is a special threat about art. Maybe I post my pictures there...

if you needed 3 months in a mh hospital maybe you need care and a hospital and not a jail cell. same here i did a month in hospital from self harm over it all. maybe with how you talk we are facing the same issue?
same with working too id be out of work but my record should clear in 5 years for a basic check standard and enhanced id never pass for life.
i assume you also hurt no one and its all bs potential harm or something unless im reading the situation wrong

Does getting sued by a bank in small claims court count? If so then hell yeah, I'm currently experiencing this trouble and refuse to pay more to this evil bank that kicked me while I was down and struggling.

Survival isnt wrong. thats all you did.
and for the person to not call the cops was the right call. like do we as a society want to waste tax payer money on giving a homeless person more trauma.. why cant we spent that on helping others.

if it costs 50k per year to jail someone and it most homless people will end up in jail at some point does it not make sense to give them a tiny house. like a small shipping container like house kitted out so they can get back on their feet.

I'm so sorry you still don't have a place, but am glad you are at least not outside. Are you in US? Are you able to get EBT or access to services (like free medical care) and do you know about 211?

No. The only thing I could have been in trouble for is posession of drugs, but luckily I seem to look harmless enough to be of no interest to the cops.
