Help Please help! Is polyester rope as good as polyethylene for CTB?

What are the differences and which would be better? I'm going with 14mm either way.

*Probably* polyester, BUT it depends on many factors, including the type of weave, the diameter, etc. Nylon is the strongest, size for size. Here's an interesting read about rope:
