i know it's pretty much considered a non method, but it worked in this article... TWICE (husband and wife).

its a thai article, put it into google translator:

was this just an extremely "lucky" case where it didn't only work once, but twice? both the husband and wife found peace with this method.
and this is not the first article i've seen where it works

btw, if ever someone wanted to learn about hanging, you can use google translate and type in something like "suicide in hotel room" and convert it to for example thai language,
and then put it into google and go to images, and a lot of stuff will show up where you can tell how their hanging setup looked like, in order to learn what works and what methods don't work for suicide.

why in a different language? because the google we know in the western world is very censored mostly on the english language.
it seems google still struggles to have as much control over for example thai websites as they do on english language websites.
so a lot more relevant results will show up if you search it in thai language... it's gruesome and horrible to see these suicide hanging pictures but if it's to learn what works and what doesn't, then it is what it is...

The one thing makes it failed often is SI, same reason we can't just hold our breath and die. I haven't read the article but they probably use medicine to help them unconscious before putting the bag or something.

Many nursing home or assisted living suicides are done with a plastic bag over the head. However it would take a tremendous amount of will not to rip the bag off once you feel suffocation.

On that note, a lot of "non-methods" become viable methods when you're elderly, ex. VSED.

Yes I always have VSED in my back pocket. I'm 57 years old and if i get struck down with some awful health condition that does not meet death with dignity standards(which my state doesn't allow yet anyway) I am doing VSED. I know someone personally that did it for bad MS. It can take 2-3 weeks though. But you can get palliative sedation towards the end.

handcuffs, the strong plastic ones you can buy in walmart and stuff. i always forget their name. in europe we call them plastic strips.

and ok, i see. by the seniors themselves i assume. or maybe even family members trying to help them get peace and stop the suffering?

here is a hypothetical, imaginary plan:
buy a ski mask... cover it entirely with duct tape all over, make it 100% air tight.
then put a plastic bag over your creation (the ski mask covered in duct tape)...
cover it nice and neat. then cover THAT with duct tape also.

now you have a 100% air tight creation that sits tight on your head (and this is still just imaginary and hypothetical BTW)
it should be a long ski mask that also covers some (or all) of your neck.

it might even have a built in strap you can pull, like a hoodie does.
so now you are closing off the last place that air can come inside.

some extra steps can maybe be added to ensure a higher chance of success,
where you also duct tape your neck after pulling the hoodie strap.

the handcuffing situation:
SI will kick in, so handcuffs would hypothetically be needed.
ZIP TIES have been pre prepared, sitting somewhere where you can just place your hands inside and quickly pull to tighten.
for example, the end of the zip tie has been attached to the opening or the crack of a closed drawer, and only the big loop is sticking out, for you to put your hands into.
hope i am explaining it well enough.

one could hypothetically have 2 zip ties for a double effect. (maybe they are taped together at the ends)

and then i guess it won't be long before one would hypothetically be out of this world.

i guess it could also be combined with certain other methods for higher chance of success
