Final Exit says the N95 mask helps, but I found it to be claustrophobic when I tried it--Plastic bag/Co2 method is now considered unreliable as per PPH(although there are some success stories)--Problem is whether the sleeping pills you take beforehand will actually work in an extreme situation like this

It's unreliable because modern sleeping pills will not knock you out enough to not feel suffocation and so wake up. The only way you can sleep through suffocating is with N or some sort of huge overdose of benzos/opiates but what dosage you'd need I really don't know. It would be a very large amount though because people take handfuls of benzos and still live.
