Hey, guys. I have been planning all of this for about a month now. At first I ordered a gas tank regulator as well as a few oxygen tubes from a major online marketplace. Had to wait a few weeks for them to come. The gas regulator is supposedly suitable for any inert gas. As my next step, I made the exit bag. I used the "Doing it with Chi" video tutorial for that as well as the guidelines from the PPHB. I already had tape and a large transparent trash bag at home, so I only needed to buy an elastic and a bunch of cord locks. These are quite easy to find in any sewing supplies store.

At first I wanted to buy a nitrogen tank, however, I could only find an argon tank available for shipping to my address. I accidentally ordered and paid for 2 8L 200 bar argon tanks. They turned out to be even heavier than I expected, 15KG each. Yesterday I picked up one of them and was actually panning to ctb on the same day, however, the most stupid thing happened. I couldn't take the protective cap off the cylinder. It got stuck and was probably screwed in a wrong way in the first place, since it sits slightly lopsided on the tank. I tried to google how to solve the problem, and it turns out that stuck caps are a common occurence in gas tanks. I even followed one of the tips from the internet and bought myself a strap wrench, sprayed the cap with WD 40 and tried to get it off. Ended up hurting my hand and feeling stupid and even more suicidal than before. I have quite weak muscles and most of the time I have to ask my friends to open up bottles for me, so I was no match for a 15KG gas tank. Now I am actually happy that I ordered a second tank, as I am planning to go to the pickup location and ask the guy who works there to let me see if the second cylinder can at all be opened. I might ask him to help me, although I am afraid to raise any suspicion. I mean, it's mostly tough 40 year old men who buy welding supplies and not people like me.

I have to say that the only thing that I am afraid of is failing and ending up with brain damage that will not let me finish the deed. That is why I have been thinking about combining the exit bag method with SN. I have already ordered 100g of it from Eastern Europe. Do you guys think it's a good idea? I would actually go with the SN method alone, since it seems to be so straight-forward, however, a year ago I used to have rather low blood pressure and actually fainted a couple of times, and it was a very unpleasant sensation. I would start panicking, my vision would gradually fade, I would gasp for air while feeling nauseous, et cetera. However, I can assure you that after you've actually fainted it can even feel nice for a few moments. I remember feeling waves of warmth spreading over my entire body. So, I am afraid that my potential CTB with SN will be much more unpleasant than simple fainting because it is a toxic chemical. However, I would still go with it if there were no other options left. What I was planning to do is taking SN with anti-emetics and then immediately putting on the exit bag after drinking the poison. This way I would probably lose consciousness in a few minutes before feeling sick or vomiting. I would still have to wait a few weeks until my SN arrives though, and I am not sure if that's what I really want.

Anyway, I should go and check if the second argon tank I ordered has a functioning protective cap. I will keep you updated.

I'm not sure if SN and inert gas is a good idea, first for possible vomiting, and second the SN stops oxygen binding to your blood, which I think is also what inert gas does (replaces the O2 in the blood / cells).

So not sure if one might cock up the other?

I know a guy who will know the answer though, Letzte hope he comes along soon ;)

I haven't thought about the potential interaction between the two. However, as I understood it, argon or any noble gas doesn't really get into your bloodstream, it just physically doesn't let the oxygen get into your lungs. So it should not have any effect on SN within your body.

You might be right, I'm not sure, but someone here will know.

I understand the desire to not end up with brain damage, I'm thinking of CO in a tent in the cold so hypothermia can take me if the CO doesn't.

But I really do like inert gas method, in the Michael Portillo documentary it seems the perfect peaceful way to go.

Guys, I can't believe I did it. After my numerous futile attempts to fight the stuck cylinder cap I gave up and went to the nearest pickup store to ask the guys who work there to help me out. At first I was surrounded by 3 men who genuinely tried to help me, and all of them failed to unscrew it. There was a dozen other customers in a tiny room full of card boxes, so you can imagine the noise and the hassle at that place... When the staff gave up on trying to open up the gas tank, they grew quite annoyed by me. I tried to explain to them that I ordered 2 gas tanks by accident and that I wanted to check whether the second one was also defective.

One of the managers ignored me for at least 20 minutes and every time I tried to give him my ID and pick up the second order, he would just look past me and shout: "Next one!". Then his boss told me: "You either take your package or not, and once you've taken it, it's done." I tried to explain the whole situation to him and told him that the gas tanks were too heavy for me to carry around. I nearly started crying and my voice was shaking from all the stress. Then he and his employees started asking me what this gas tank was for, and the boss (a middle-aged man who spoke Arabic with the other staff members) asked me why I ordered such a strange item in the first place. I mumbled that it was for my father who was not in the country at the moment. It seems like he believed me.

In the end I left the defective gas tank in the pickup store and carried this little guy all the way home. It wasn't easy on my arms which are sore now, haha. You can't imagine how happy I was when I could actually take the cap off! I hope that it will work. I am thinking of testing it on a rodent used for feeding snakes first. I do feel sad about euthanasing another living being, but I think that it would be more humane for it than being eaten alive by a reptile...
