Petition to legalize euthanasia for the mentally retarded (me) and the unhappy (every one here)

I would like to get everyone on this site together to make our wish to die a reality. We all need to come together with a plan and 10 signatures per person to legalize euthanasia. Once we get our signatures (goal 20K) we will go to Washington or wherever the legislative branch is.
We also need a plan to convince them.

There are strong forces at work that want to keep us alive.

Yeah I was about to say that, even if it would work marching to Washington and get it legalized it would only be legal in the US so you would have to do it in every country and it would never fly normal people just think suicidal people can´t think rationally because they are suicidal and think they need "help" not a way out of suffering. And even if it was possible then yes it would take years to go through, bureaucracy takes a long time they are not in a hurry.

This will never see the light of day due to the USA's stance on euthanasia and the amount of pro-life politicians in office. Even then it wouldn't reach the level where you can freely euthanize yourself, but instead have to jump through legal issues in order for a judge who may be biased, to grant you a peaceful death. Dr. Kevorkian was a proponent of this legislature back in the 80s and early 90s, and he became a laughingstock of the entire nation. It's funny how the progressives will promote abortion, but won't promote euthanasia of a person that is terminally ill. We will put down a dog humanely, but have to seek painful methods to put ourselves down. Clown world we live in.

This is true and sums it up very well. I too, may not be around long enough to benefit though as my life circumstances aren't well currently.

Also humans tend to overestimate how fast progress can be made like when watching time travel movies they expect us to be flying cars and shit in movies decades ago, so this petition is some Futurama fantasy (the suicide booth) in the year 3000, the only reason people would agree to the concept of suicide if it´s beneficial to them and I heard a theory that the reason it´s legal in Futurama is that people get so old they practically never die so it must be beneficial for people to off themselves and their bodies could probably used to other beneficial purposes.

Also a another example although way different is the legalization of Cannabis even though it´s legal for recreational use in many states in the US, Amsterdam and fully legal in Canada it´s still illegal in most of the world and people get more prison time for smuggling some kilos of Cannabis into their country than murder. Also think about how many decades it took to legalize recreational use of Cannabis in these aforementioned regions.

All it takes is love for one's fellow man to legalise assisted suicide for all. It is the love of empathy and understanding for the suicidal mind from humanising perspectives than the medical perspective. It is the recognition of what it means to be vulnerable, to be weak, to be fragile, to be sensitive, as what is in common with the suicidal mind that is in common with non suicidal minds.

It is also to recognise that there are we who are better off having never been born because we can't bear the pain of living or human cruelty and evil. It is only the prevail of extreme cruelty and evil that's why assisted suicide can ever be a crime as well as the ignorance of the truth about human nature.

It is to have the competency to recognise dying is not the worst thing that can happen to them. They bear what they force on suicidal individuals by the criminalisation of assisted suicide and the lack of the right to use one's death until they face suicidal thoughts and feelings so extreme and so prolonged as many here face.

It is only because they are unaffected by how suicidal individuals feel that is why assisted suicide can be a crime. It is when the freedom to inflict and prolong and worsen suicidal thoughts and feelings indefinitely exists that assisted suicide is a crime. It is when they have absolutely no concept of the protection of the weak to protect suicidal individuals.

It is awful to live when these criminalisations exist. Drugs for the mind have the capacity to create extreme happiness and provide access to transcendental mental experiences. Assisted suicide has the power to give individuals a limit to suffering and the power of the individual to limit cruelty and evil.

It's all rather idiotic. In hospices and hospitals we are already "euthanizing" people. My own mom died in a hospital bed not from her disease but from refusing her water. The doctors gave her a minimum of 3 weeks to live and she pretty much told them to hasten it as quickly as they could. They pumped her full of pain medication and sedatives until she was comatose and just stopped giving her water. She lived for 3 days before dying of purposeful dehydration. This is happening all the time and no one bats an eye but for some reason you give someone a lethal dose which has the exact same outcome and people start losing their minds.

You have to be a resident for X amount of time and you have to have a terminal illness, 6 months or less to live, and there are many other rules and several doctors need to sign off. It's not very easy.

and in the states at least currently absolutely no assisted suicide/death with dignity for mental health issues only very severe terminal issues with 6 months or less to live, multiple MD signed off and many psych evals. I have a family member who did it for pancreatic cancer. it was a very long process and she ended up dying prior to even completing it.
