If you had a ton of money, would you stop thinking about cbt?
Coming from the modest of backgrounds, I have seen people kill for money, resort to prostitution, slave away their lives.People literally lick your ass if you have the bucks, then suddenly ghost you if you are a nobody. Do you feel a lot of money would change your mind?

In my case i don't think money would change my mind about ctb at all. I know for some people it would but not for me personally.
I could wake up with 10 million dollars and still want to kill myself and would still think life is pointless

Until I started blowing money on my ctb method and food, I had the most money I've had In years. And I haven't wanted to ctb until recently. I don't think money would change much for me.

Becoming financially stable made it possible to move out of my abusive parents' house a few years ago. I'm able to live comfortably in a high cost of living area at the moment, but I'm not rich either. If I end up in a situation where I can no longer afford to live independently, I would rather CTB than move back in with my parents. Having money is not everything and it's not the most important thing in the world, but quality of life matters.

This is so relatable...my parents and relatives used to abuse me repeatedly for being alone and locking myself in my room not doing anything..Honestly after a personal trauma, it was not easy for me to interact with people, but no one understood, it was terrible, if you raise your voice against them, they used to throw things at me...thanks to a friend...I found my way out and living independently...yet I understood that I'm useless if I'm not earning or doing something worthy in my life.

Money is actually the problem why I'm suicidal. It's the reason why I cannot live the life I want to live and the life I'm used to live.

People will kill for money but they most likely won't become rich. Money is the fuel that drives our society. Having enough to eat and a place to to sleep ins't a fulfilling life in our society. However there are many things that money can never buy - health, love, friends and all that.

No, in my case I'd prefer to not exist no matter the circumstances, I wish I never existed more than anything. I just don't see the futile and torturous burden of existing as a human to be something desirable, I have no interest in being trapped inside the decaying flesh prison that is the human body that can potentially torment us to unlimited amounts.

For me suicide is the rational solution to prevent unnecessary suffering and whether one has money or not there is endless potential to suffer as long as one exists. Existence itself truly is the ultimate problem to me which only ceasing to exist can solve, I find it tragic how life even exists at all, existence itself really is nothing more than an unnecessary harm, I wish I stayed eternally unaware of the abomination that is existence.

If I woke up tomorrow and had 10 million or some ridiculous amount, I'd probably keep going, at least for a while. I'd do everything I always wanted to if I was rich. Also life's easier to cope with without the stress of having to work, while still being able to support yourself independently.

I'd still for sure CTB later on when I was ready though.

For my situation specifically, I think having more money would fix a lot of the reasons I want to CTB. Not everything, but most of it.

I want to move out because I hate living with my parents, but I can't get a spouse, I don't trust anyone enough to be roommates, and it would be impossible to afford to move out in this economy without my current well-paying but soul-crushing job. I hate that I need to work more than 50% of my waking life at a job that makes me hate myself and feel stupid, to the point where anything I enjoy outside of work doesn't seem worth it anymore. If I had a lot more money, I wouldn't need to waste so much of my life trying to afford living.

Growing up poor and not having a job till my late 20's, this is the most financially stable I've ever been. This is also the most suicidal I've ever been, so I'm assuming I'd still ctb if I had more money. I'm in a very comfortable spot money wise, but life has just gotten worse the longer I live it. I would say maybe if I won the lottery, but then I'd have no privacy since people are gonna know I have all this money and its gonna make me more miserable. So no, more money will not fix the problem for me personally

I think being financially independent and stable would make it possible for me to get the professional help I need in a long term. Many of my anxieties are also caused by the need to support my family financially. I might still struggle with suicidal thoughts, but being financially secure would really ease a handful of burden for me.

mental health care is a joke in germany if you dont have very expensive private insurance. my sistere has privat she is a doctor. most ppl cant affort its like 1000 euros a momth. the free psychotherapies are a joke. had them my entiere life and just made it worse tbh. most therapists dont care. last guy i went to was ready newspapers while i was supposed to just talk to myself and in the end he asked me when i can come a week later because of my job. even though i told him i cant work . 2. one learned i had bpd and dropped me sayin she cant help.
I also have major depression and anxiety, insomnia. insurance covers 1 30 minute of this "therapy" a week and once you want someone else you have a ban for 2 year. treatment only for wealthy people where i come from.

I made enough money such that I don't have to work anymore if I don't want to, it hasn't really changed anything for me. I made the money so that my family could live a stable life with options and opportunities and more time to spend together and be there for them without the worry of financial burden, because I have felt financial burden and it is horrible. I don't personally need a lot of money to live.

I do think it's very difficult when you don't have enough money to survive, I don't blame people for doing desperate things, I wouldn't want to be in that position or put my family in that position. Once you are living at a standard that has a level of quality of life, I don't think a lot more money really changes anything.

I guess it depends on what it proves to you, perhaps if you made hundreds of millions it would prove to yourself / others that you are a success, and that makes you feel better about yourself. I get that, we all have something to prove, perhaps due to previous trauma. I personally feel like that's a bit hollow and meaningless to me, I just wanted to support my loved ones.
