People on SaSu are weirdly competitive

SOME people on here are very competitive, it's strange. Firstly, people coming on her and talking about how easy suicide is and that everyone still here is just a pussy and should get it over with (????). Secondly, the constant posts dragging " fake" attempts, if u believed u were going to die I dont see why people keep making up new criteria. Trying to die is trying to die, no matter the method. People are really snobby about methods in general actually. I dont like reading method threads that aren't like SN, or hanging because alot of times it goes from advice to like mocking. Like the poster is too stupid to figure out how to kts- like they're supposed to have experience????? For a community thats main goal is openness and accepting, people on here can be AT TIMES very hostile. I guess this is a common symptom of a lot of mental disorders, so not surprising to see it here, but still annoying. I have fallen into those ways of thinking before so I get the need for people to know ur not joking, but atleast have the decency to keep it to yourself. Its just funny to me, you're trying to kill yourself not win a race man. Chill out, u dont have competition.

it's very funny, i noticed it too, look how the same pattern repeats itself in everything in life, whatever it is. simply a pattern of human behavior, a need to distinguish oneself above the rest. as if our brain was already programmed for competition.

I think no one should be mocking anyone for not being able to ctb or not being sure, I think people should not be cruel to each other especially on here. But a lot of people just want to fit in, so they try to make themselves seem like experts. I think this world is exhausting.

I'd say that for some it's a method of venting or making themselves feel better. Most of us come from a world of constant judgement - friends, family, coworkers, social media. They all try to grade you, compare to others etc. No wonder some members are trying a tad too hard to get noticed one way or another. After all, SaSu is just another community that will judge them, one way or another so they try hard to be seen and to be "judges" too. And if some get too far in the process, you can always report unwanted behavior. Bullying and harassment is not accepted on this site.

I'm new here so I can't really speak of any experiences I've had life, but man, some people are just awful... Like the world crushes us under its heel so much, is it too much to ask to reach out for someone to just listen for a moment, offer some empathy? Apparently for some people. To me, the idea of death is peaceful. Death is peace. There isn't any rush. People should go when they're good and ready, when they're certain they'll have no regrets in their last moments.

Similarly we're all going through unique struggles and what led us to this point is unique to the individual. There's no reason to want to die too little... the very urge to die speaks volumes about what someone's been through already. Nobody should add to that hurt that's already there.

I won't know the true peace I'm looking for till I'm dead, but I sometimes find a bit of it in others who lend an hour without judgement, and hope I can do the same for a few people in my life at least.

YES! 100% agree with you @StrawberryRed, as I have been on here going on 5 years and I get the aspect of mental health issues, heavens I got more than my share, HOWEVER to be nasty, zing folks, mock folks, the list goes on is so counterproductive and just damn mean.

I have faced more than my share of age discrimination on here, WHY? I have no idea, as we are ALL the same period. Age is a number that is it and I love helping folks out and doing my darndest to try and give them a smile and maybe just maybe some hope and a breather to think.

We are ALL family here and folks who find pleasure in zinging and giving others crap should rethink as they will also want love, help and the togetherness of SaSu and laughing at others is a short end of the stick and I wish with all my heart that they start looking long term and be kind and help others NOT find pleasure in the short term.

I noticed this too and it really is so annoying. Idk why some people here out of all places act like suicide is easy to do and that those who actually want to be dead would have killed themselves already. It makes me hate this world so much more
