Last month I started a new job and I was never expecting my life to change as I was unemployed since 2019. I still can't stop thinking of the times people were mean to me for being unemployed.
Being unemployed I have experienced loneliness and prejudice. A couple of months ago my mother ordered Macdonalds using Ubereats and I ended up answering the door. My mum wanted to tip the Ubereats driver so I had to wait for her while she was getting the money. The Ubereats driver was a young man who started taking to me while waiting.
He asked me my age and if I was working. When i said no the delivery man said in the most patronising tone ever " you should be working " and I could see an eye roll he gave me. I was upset that day as result I stopped talking to people and avoiding people althougher so I will not encounter anymore prejudice from people over my employment status.
I told my story one reddit everyone called me a liar the comments were just horrible. I am not a liar
