In the video 'How the choking game kills' the woman performs a perfect partial suspension with a full neck covering collar.

All guides I have read advise for a thin, 10mm, rope to be placed under the adams apple. Wouldn't the rope slip? I wouldn't want to wake up mid hanging, fail or prolong the experience, because the pressure releases as the rope slides.

I'll likely do a full suspension with the rope at the top of my neck just because I can't visualise how partial with the rope midway could be reliable.

I'd much prefer it to be painless with partial, wouldn't a big collar work?

The idea of having the rope midway is to compress the carotid arteries without constricting the airways. The collar in the choking game demonstration was placed at the base of her neck.
Do you still put the rope under the adams apple with a full suspension?

With full suspension, the rope will be above the adams apple as soon as you are off the ground.

I can't seem to understand how partial works then. I don't have anything above me to attach the rope to, so it will be hooked on to a pillar behind me. Surely my body could move in any direction and pull the rope into a different place.

You would initially position the rope in the correct place if you are going to be leaning into it. You can also do partial by having the rope long enough that you would need to kneel into it. The rope probably will move, but the aim is to be unconscious by then.

Middle right is doing a trick shot lol.

I can sort of see it, especially with the knees folded flat. I've got a 14mm hemp rope and a sturdy place to tie it to. Does full suspension really hurt that much? Isn't it likely to cause a black out faster than partial, it should only take 5 seconds or so I would have thought, with full weight.

It's just weird to me that throughout all of civilization they've done full suspension. I guess they weren't bothered about the pain it caused, and they were killing instead of suicide but I find it strange this method of death, that's supposed to be painless and quick, has only been found on forums these past few years.

How did you come to the conclusion that partial hanging was invented on forums and just a few years ago? According to older statistics, about half of all suicidal hangings were partial.

I've never heard that. Is that why hanging has a much lower success rate than you would think, like 70% or so, from partial suspension dragging it down? (pun partially intended lol)

The method just seems too good to be true.

That's an interesting question. I guess it depends of when an attempt officially counts like one in the statistic. Like putting the noose around one's neck and not finding the courage or finding it too uncomfortable and calling it off because of that might count as an attempt or being fully unconscious might.

Another question. People are saying you have to put the rope around where you feel your pulse the strongest. I can only feel it at the top, isn't that the same for everyone? That's where Doctors would check for it.

With partial its trail and error. With full it's over either way. There is alot of good info in the hanging mega thread.

I disbelieve the trial and error part. I think it's down to si battling.
I've tried a few times and I chicken out when I feel my body reacting to the noose.
