So if a bottle of sterile Pentobarbital is opened and poured into different bottle to bring back on plane, does it loose its effectiveness?
Need an expert and professional opnion here.

This is what I found in my research. This applies only if vial is a multi dose vial:
  • If a multi-dose has been opened or accessed (e.g., needle-punctured) the vial should be dated and discarded within 28 days unless the manufacturer specifies a different (shorter or longer) date for that opened vial.
Some of the Pentobarbital vials are multi dose vials.

Moving Pentobarbital between bottles can make it not work as well because it might become contaminated and mix with air, which can weaken its effects. Not that it makes it completely ineffective, but once exposed to air, it's gonna get worse quicker just like any other substance.

Thanks. Are you a chemistry student?
Also is there away to transfer it to another bottles while minimizing air exposure?

Use a clean and a dry bottle with a tight fitting lid, fill it as much as possible to reduce air space inside, work quickly to minimize the time the liquid is exposed to air (if you have a funnel, it's a lot faster). I've had chemistry for years so this is just basic science ;)
