Don't bother trying with a tie I doubt it will work. I am personally using a 10mm dock line rope

hanging by the shower is crazy tho, but if you can't use real rope, just keep practicing your tie until you pass out or feel like you might. If you think you can pass out it's means somewhat works, I think if you use a tie you die extremely slowly until loose blood or oxygen, that's why it's better use a rope because you die alot quicker

I haven't test it but I heard someone on this site recommended this rope because less painful than other ropes, and the Brand: HAIY makes pretty goated ropes for hanging
