  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

That's right. They gave us plenty of irrelevant assignments that will not even show up on the exams. These worth like 10-25%; at least 2 per subjects, and we have 5 subjects per semester. They expect us to accomplish those. We don't have choice to pick which class to take, or how many classes we can take per semester.

So much damn assignments and lessons to learn. Hell, I have not studied the current lesson because I'm given heck of a lot of irrelevant assignments.

They always tell us "Mental health is important... Take care of yourself first". Then they look at me with judgmental eyes when I'm not well-versed in theory and practice?! I want to take things in my own pace, and with these expectations, I can't take it anymore. I'm not as mentally strong or smart as other people. Nursing schools and the government-regulated entity doesn't understand any of that.

I partially blame the college that I'm enrolled to. But I blame the government-regulated entity the most because they force us to have this much assignment. They don't care about me at all. I would've fared better if all I need to do is studied the theory and practice skills, not these irrelevant assignments.

My college does have counselor, but it doesn't work well. So much repetitive routine that doesn't work anymore. If I had known that nursing school will be like this, I definitely would stay the fuck away.

Nursing schools worldwide need a reform for the benefit and well-being of the students. I hypothesize that healthcare workplace would be in a better place if we're focused on theory and skills, rather than have countless hours spent wasted on irrelevant assignments.

This is not to say that we shouldn't have assignments, but what I meant is to have fewer assignments and make it way more relevant that can enhance our knowledge and prepare us for the exam and real-life practice. It's a shame you know. A lot of good nurses could've been produced if the system is not like this. Many people stayed away because of the shitty design and system made by hypocrites and psychopaths.

I want to quit right now, but my family is stopping me, telling me that it's a bad idea and what other career would be as promising. I'm already mid-20s, and never accomplished and never had a stable job in life. Student loans won't cover me anymore if I quit. I don't have a choice. I want to kill myself.

I 100% agree with you. Like me, I did not go to college till I was 24 and they asked me what my act scores were. I had no idea what they were asking at first and when they told me I answered that I was out of high school and working for 6 years and that was good enough and they waved the act deal. Now with that minor example, I have always through the decades seen so many people that I worked with who knew the "text book" stuff, but had zero idea about real life experiences and how to deal with issues. Any type of school and any type of course study should always have a heavy dose of, like you said @Pen>Sword , real world learning and practice. I send you lots of kindness , empathy and the hope that you do great. Walter
