  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

Hi all, i apologise if there is a specialised thread i should be going to for answers and if anyone can link it i would be very grateful but heres my question:

I have a 30L 99.999% technical grade nitrogen cylinder and an escmode regulator but i am struggling to find definitive sources/threads about the efficiency of the NRB mask vs the exit bag method, i can acquire an NRB mask with ease and would prefer this method.

Background: Severe chronic pain sufferer after accident and botched surgeries, suffering for 10 years.

Many thanks.

here is a way to find more info from this site, using google:
(other search engines may not work the same way)

site:sanctioned-suicide.net Continuous Flow Supplied Air Respirator

site:sanctioned-suicide.net Non-rebreather mask

advanced google search: https://www.google.com/advanced_search

typing "Continuous Flow" (exact phrase) is different than Continuous Flow (adjacent words)

some of my results:

Interesting setup. Admittedly, the shortfall with the NRB mask (NRB) is the imperfect seal to the face. However, I believe the NRB mask remains superior to what you propose.

The NRB has two one-way valves: One is between the reservoir bag and the mask to allow gas (O2) to flow into the mask when you breathe in but not when you breathe out; the other is at the sides of the mask and allows the exhaled air to escape to the environment.

As noted by @Willyw, you have essentially reinvented the NRB but at a higher cost and complexity.

Attached below is the configuration diagram from Sundström's Half-Mask Air-Purifying Respirator users manual (with the filters). The diagram highlights the inlet and outlet valves which are functionally equivalent to the NRB. What is crucial in your setup is the correct sizing of the bag. A bag too small would not hold enough gas for each breath; a bag too large would contain excessive air at the start of the process.

In regards to the flow rate, it should still be set at 15LPM. This has been established (empirically) as the ideal flow rate for the Exit Bag method. Finally, the hole diameter at the inlet valve would affect your flow rate, as the rate of flow is also a function of the cross-sectional area of the hole.

Please do not misunderstand. I applaud your creativity in improving the design of the NRB. I would suggest that you direct your development efforts in improving the facial seal of the NRB.

Best regards, G

Incidentally, I have noticed that you are using an Ar flow meter. Please do not forget to make the necessary flow rate adjustment.

I know you chose scuba mask option and bought parts, etc...So I am not trying to change your mind or argue against scuba.
But I been reading about respirator option. It is very appealing. Especially since this is how industrial N2 accidental death happens.
Much simpler than scuba option.
I would like hear from you any negatives? draw backs? about this option. Don't worry you won' hurt my feelings, LOL, Truth rocks.

I found this item at my local welding supply shop.
https://sanctioned-suicide.net/attachments/welding-hood-png.102976/

It seems too take most of the work out of the process.
The item is generally available on places like Amazon. Sometimes it comes in at kit that pretty much has everything (hoses, connectors, etc.) but the gas. Seems simple to operate: Connect the gas, put on the hood, turn on the gas, your done.

The official name of this if your searching for info is "Continuous Flow Supplied Air Respirator".

Interested in opinions of others

i'm also looking for the simplest way to exit using nitrogen ( 5 l - 10 l tank )

tank + mask, unfortunately it's not that simple, so i have to try:
tank + flow regulator (15l/minute) + mask

The NRB won't provide a good enough seal, it would be better to use SCBA or SCUBA mask.

If you already have an escmode flow regulator (assuming is not the industrial 18 LPM one, and with no pressure port), the best thing to pair with that is the EEBD hood.
