Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I don't want to reveal where I live just cuz

but like...

anyone else just feel horrible because you are trapped in a state where you have shitty healthcare and can't get therapy or anything? like, even if I wanted to go inpatient, they would only keep me for like 2 days... what do people even do? is this what "falling through the cracks" is?

Thankfully I've always been able to access treatment in my state (though it's often 30+ minutes away). That being said, it still feels impossible for me to find providers who actually care about their patients' well-being.

I would really hope that they would keep you for longer if you insisted you still needed to be there, but I'm honestly not sure because the workers there are always so neglectful and incompetent. I was kept in one for 10 days even though I lied from the start about no longer being suicidal.

I've been in some pretty horrible hospitals. One time I was discharged still suicidal, to an airport, because my family in another state had to step up. I put a cigarette out on my wrist and they still let me go 2 days later.

I have hope for this one last clinic that is kinda close to me... it's just a hassle having to save money for gas..

My state has AWESOME mental health care, BUT also, they can take it too far, I know, I have been taken to court and had to fight a commitment against me, it was nasty. mental health good, as long as the court system stays the hell out of it.

I'm in a country with top tier mental health care - among the very best in the world, according to multiple evaluators. But, I also feel the same, and so do many others, here.

I think mental health simply is difficult and complicated, and that even the best mental health care is merely relatively good. It's far from a solved problem, anywhere.
