  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

I did read a thread where someone recommened it for drowning method. I have heard of nitrous oxide but never tried it. I did read it is used for anesthesia(not sure if its the correct term) and im surprised i can buy it legally in my place.

Has someone experience with this? And can it be useful for ctb?
Thanks

I think it would help reduce anxiety and SI. If you had a full tank and a mask you could just use it alone by not mixing any oxygen in.

Tbh, I don't know why it isn't mentioned in inert gas methods. Certainly breathing it continuously without oxygen would be lethal. Plus it has the added benefit of being a NMDA antagonist and an anesthetic with subjectively pleasant effects.

My guess for it's lack of popularity is that obtaining a large tank of nitrous oxide would be either extremely difficult or very costly compared to welding gasses like nitrogen and argon.

There are current studies being done on nitrous oxide about it's potential for treating depression. Be careful, it can be extremely habit-forming. Just look at all the hippies out at doofs or what happened to Steve-O

I just read of an elderly lady, an academic, "that took matters into her own hand using nitrous oxide". Nothing about where she acquired the gas or how she used it.

What little research I did after reading this indicates an overdose can put you in a coma or cause death, but I also read some horror stories of recreational users that ended up crippled from using it.

Make sure the gas is not mixed with oxygen. The one used in therapy has 25% and 50% mix.

Note: this doesn't come from my own experience, rather than just googling

Many years ago, they found a dead Dentist in Long Island, cops said nitrous oxide was the cause, ,he was abusing it
