Two arms and a head, you can read the entire book for free on its eponymously named website.
I just read through this. All of it. I can't even begin to describe how I'm feeling, a whirlwind of emotion. And similarly I can't begin to describe the anguish the author went through. How did you discover this?
I was actually planning to print this book out, I figured I had enough paper for it and I wanted to highlight certain passages that stuck out to me, but I immediately cut that idea once I got to the final chapter. I hope Clayton has found peace now, and I hope he has gotten relief from writing his story. I will never, ever forget it.

I'm reading it, I like it! I mean, as much as you actually can like depressing shit, which in my case is to a high degree (excluding absurdly pessimistic authors like Berhnard or Cioran, I like realistic pessimism, not overblown and delirious pessimism). This man had reasons for his hell, he didn't make it worse with his attitude.

Last review of this book on Goodreads...

"I don't usually review books but this guy is a weak noob.

Compare him to another paraplegic author, Bill Peace. Bill knew his life was full of shit but got on with it, if nothing else to stick it to the man. What a legend."

I don't know if he's joking or not, I don't think he is, but I guess it just goes to show that no matter how honest and forthcoming you are (like Clayton was) some people will simply never understand.

I actually do understand pro-lifers that admire a paraplegic that manages to enjoy life. I just don't relate to that, but I would want to. I'd prefer to be optimistic and enjoy life but I was born to see the downside. Someone has to do it. I believe that neither pro-life or pro-choice are wrong, they are all right from their position as nobody can see the whole, except perhaps accomplished mystics (this is hearsay, however).

There will always be a life-bias among the living, and for good reason. It's just more comfortable to embrace life as you live than loathe it or be suspecting of it, like I am. But as I am an spritual person I believe all the work I'm doing now will be 'rewarded' in some form as my essence continues its journey. After all, nobody can escape from truth forever, not even the masses. As Jesus said 'The truth will set you free'. If there´s something crooked in life (as there is obvious joy and allure in it), it will be revealed to everyone with time. The Grand Charade or the Cosmic Gladiatorial Arena cannot go on forever.

It doesn't really bother me that the guy likes another paraplegic like Peace who "got on with it" to put it in his terms. I remember there was a thread awhile back discussing a man who had polio and was in an iron lung, I think he was actually the last person to have an iron lung, who has made very big accomplishments in his life like becoming a lawyer and I know that story was a very admired one by the general public. I guess all I really wish for is some understanding for people with Clayton's perspective, and our perspective also. I feel like that's all we can really ask for.
