I'd be very surprised if they ever assisted depressives with suicide.
I'm not sure I would want help dying. A suicide due to mental illness and dissatisfaction with life seems to be a very different thing than an elderly person with cancer choosing a home death over a hospital death. It's a withdrawal from life, and perhaps a rush towards death, rather than an acceptance of unwanted but inevitable death.
The whole point is that I don't want to be with people or anything else in the world anymore. Not while living, nor while dying.Similar threads
