Some constructive comments, comic to comic:
You presented your punk provocatively (like the alliteration?), and the topic is at a moment of high emotional charge. Kind of like joking about 9/11 on 9/15 at a demolition convention.
You've made a seemingly rational defense to legitimize the post (see the full comment I quoted), but, really? It was to educate about cartoids? Seems a reframe. "No, no! I was
educating you!"
Pssssshh....
Dude.
Your intended audience appreciated you and the chuckle. Others, including villagers with pitchforks, did not, and they're saying so. You're not afraid of the pitchforks, I respect that. Stand your ground. But reframing the original narrative to justify your punk won't dull the pitchfork tines, nor the wits of those who wield them, and it highlights a lack of respect or regard that some felt in the presentation of the OP.
Sometimes being funny backfires. There's always that risk. From a purely comedic perspective, props for showing up and trying. But do you want the audience to be uplifted with laughter, or do you want to poke at their sacred cows and make them hate you, then call it educational when they do? Imo, you can be Amy Schumer, seek to provoke, and give no fucks nor apology, or you can find more intelligent inspirations, if education is more your thing than edginess. If Amy Schumer is your thing, okey dokey. I respect if it is. Personally, I shut her off because I feel assualted by her. I think some members felt the same about the OP.
Peace, and sincere best wishes for your comedic pursuits. One is probably at the height of their powers if they can pull off comedy in a suicide forum. If we were all together irl, you might have accomplished suicide by audience! Though it seems many comics have tried before you and they're still alive, just broke. And probably even more suicidal!
