I agree with @autumnal I don't think this belongs in the suicide discussion as a matter of fact, the way that it is presented I don't think that it belongs on the site at all? Because no one knows the situation of what's going on and what happened and how and why… There are so many factors that go into all of these things and the news may not be reporting things properly. I feel it's very poor choice currently.

The man died because a police officer used his knee to restrict blood flow to the brain.

Are you saying he would have died that day even if the police had not taken the actions they did?

Which in this case is certainly not the wrong agenda to have, BTW, but you don't need to falsely conflate the incident with a suicide method, especially now that this thread has been moved to off-topic. Here it is in the right place for any further discussion, although you don't strike me as open to hearing or understanding any medical evidence.

It's basically the same as partial suspension hanging, ie. cutting off the bloodflow to the brain, George fought it off for a while, that's why he stayed conscious for so long. If done correctly by a train pro this technique ie a blood choke renders one unconscious QUICKLY, death will follow after around 5 mins or so, actually I forget it takes a little bit of time.





Having done bjj, the choke itself doesn't actually hurt unless the person twists/wrenches on the neck, it can be fairly comfy. The difference between these choke outs and using a rope is that the rope doesn't let go thus, you never regain blood flow and die. A rope is also sharper and less comfy compared to someones arms actually choking you out, it also takes a bit longer.

You know, this could be something worth exploring not a knee on the neck but using a lumbar roll cushion on the lower side of the neck and then lower the weights down on the other side, usually lifting weights you keep your head facing to the front so if you turn your head to the side and lower them down so it compresses both carotid artery's and you CTB, still cheaper than Nembutal and it will look accidental, you don't have to use the heavy weights just heavy enough to cut of the blood supply, probably best to wrap some cloth or foam around the middle of the bar to make it more comfortable.
