• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

The evil BBC like the evil New york times is trying to get this sasu website shut down which is why they published this article full of lies against this website. and the article will attract more pro-lifers to the website who will act as spies to take down sources for ctb.

this is the New york times reporters and what they did : what kind of an evil monsters are they that they demonize people already suffering extremely as a Death cult luring and convincing vulnerable children to kill themselves. and it's not like they just read the site once no they spent months analysing millions of posts so they know what they were saying is lies because no one was encouraging others to commit suicide much less luring and convincing vulnerable children to kill themselves as the New York times reporters said ( Lies)

This article from the evil BBC is more proof we are living in an extreme suicide prohibition state based on lies. remember the New York times also did an article full of lies against this website. the New York times monsters spent months analyzing millions of posts here and then lied about what people were talking about demonizing this site as a Death cult that lures and encourages vulnerable young people including children and teenagers to kill themselves. those were all lies which shows the Ny times reporters are evil monsters. they wrote that article to get this website shut down and they doxed the creators of this website who had to quit and then others took it on but Marquis the creator of this website is no longer involved because they doxed him and there were videos about him . they accused him of causing the Death of many youngsters and other people.

this is the New york times reporters and what they did : what kind of an evil monsters are they that they demonize people already suffering extremely as a Death cult luring and convincing vulnerable children to kill themselves.

Making ISPs ban this site wouldn't do anything imo as people can just a VPN to easily bypass that issue. Also, one thing I don't understand is as to why people tend to blame the wrong things for somebody killing themselves. They always seem to systematically blame the site or that one person who was being supportive to them during their final moments or something. I never see these people blame society and the current systems in place as the reason why some kill themselves and, yes, some people do indeed kill themselves because of society's demands and so forth.

But no, they instead blame this site which doesn't even do anything but merely talks about a more peaceful way of dying which is SN. This site doesn't even encourage people to die via this method either nor is there any help provided beyond the information presented in the SN megathreads. People still have to find the sources alone, get the other resources alone and attempt alone. They are doing this on their own volition because assisting somebody with suicide is illegal

I hate when news sites like BBC try to give SS a bad name. If they do take this site away, a lot of people will lose their safe space and many more will probably want to CTB more than ever. I feel like this site has done more good than bad and I personally don't want anything upsetting that balance.

Also, why would a cyber security expert write a suicide note asking for this place to be shut down and simultaneously be using SaSu info in his suicide?

Someone can be suicidal themself and come on here to research methods that they can use. Just because they use the site for themself doesn't necessarily mean that they approve of the site. This site can be a danger for some people. He may really believe that the site is bad and should be shut down.

Just because someone is suicidal doesn't mean that they think this site is a good place or that they would want to come on here. I know some people who have struggled with suicidal thoughts. Some of them thought this site was ok. But a lot of them thought this site was a bad idea. They said that they were glad that they didn't know about this site when they were suicidal because if they had come on here, they may have gone through with it if they had detailed method information right before them on their bad days.
I forgot to mention that suicide note. I believe it was a lie.

I don't know. Of course no one on here knows for sure. But his family would recognize his handwriting. I would think the police would have tried to verify that he was the one who wrote the suicide note. They would have asked his family for a sample of his handwriting and compared the two. When they contacted the reporters they would have asked his family for a sample of his handwriting too and sent it in to be verified. So he most likely did write the note.

Freedom of speech in USA I doubt it could get shut down and even if it did another one would pop up. I understand the family is mad and in a lot of grief. But more needs to be put into mental health research so people dont have to resort to coming to this site

I am so lonely every single day, and if I try to meet new people, I am burdened with the guilt over what my sorrow and possible impending (or delayed) suicide could do to them.

Here I can be me, uncensored, and it alleviates my lonliness. And BBC and the nyt want to take that away from me... fuck both of them.

Guys, you have to understand the following. The BBC is a news outlet, and any movement in England aimed at against a website on this subject, which is obviously controversial, would be reported and followed by them.

In my opinion, the article, as well as others they have already published, is flawed and at odds with their own style, because it does not allow for contradiction. It does not even listen to the other side. This is strange.

The article mentions families who are pressuring the government to close the website.

I believe that no one becomes a member of the website if they did not already have plans for the CTB, and many times the reason is their own family. Many people who have done this for the CTB because of their own family. Even if I go through with my plan, it will be because of my family. In other words, the SS is not responsible for the decision.

Now we have to understand the families' grief, one of the steps is to find someone to blame, to blame someone. And then it ends up falling on the SS.

The BBC does not consider this, who knows, maybe someone there is going through this grief and has forgotten professionalism. They also don't consider how many people came here already decided to take the CTB and gave up thanks to the recovery topics.

In other words, the SS has already saved lives. And those who took theirs had already decided to do so. I believe that no one who doesn't want to take the CTB signs up on the site.

The SS doesn't have any content that encourages people to harm others, at least I haven't seen it. But information that people are looking for about something they've already decided for their own lives, it's possible to find.

Sites like X, for example, have much more heavy and controversial content, of all kinds, prohibited. Just do a search for # there with the most absurd things that can be found freely, of everything! But no one questions closing X.

The BBC doesn't write about that.

And as a journalism outlet, sometimes investigative, they're certainly here following everything. And it makes sense, it's their job. It's just unfortunate that in this case they're not acting with the credibility and professionalism that characterize them.

Anyone who enters the SS is destined to take their own life, and would do so anyway. However, many recover thanks to the resources available here or the support of other members.

But this does not get an audience, and will not be understood by those who are grieving and want to find someone to blame (which may be themselves).

Our yearly free advertisement.

Won't be the last time.

But not a thing to freak out about. They have tried many times to ban us. And we're still here.
People only see what they want to see, what recovery section? What people that came and went to give life another chance?

It will probably never change.

And even if they block it, let's say they manage to close the site.

People will continue to take their own lives, more and more, as has been happening all over the world. The reason is not and never has been this site.

It's funny to read from a family member of someone who supports CTB that if this initiative saves one life, she would be happy. This site has already saved several lives.

And it also allowed those who are not going to change their minds to do so with less pain and suffering for themselves and others.

It would be fairer to study the reasons that lead people to want CTB (and this would be a good place for that) to think of solutions that resolve these issues at the beginning.

Those who are here are because the CTB option is already on the table at the end.

What these people don't understand is that sites like this can create a sense of refuge an union with people who understands them regardless of the reason of suffering, id go as far to say it might save many lives and put them in a path of recovery

It is very unfair to call this a "suicide site." It helps a lot of people. The problem is not ctb, anyway. The problem is that people are unhappy. MPs should show some interest in that!

To be clear, my intention is to CTB & I won't change my mind.
And since I've been on SaSu, I've been actively happy for members here that have had success. Which is mind boggling to me. I would not have believed that possible, not that long ago.
I believe we should all make our own decisions & have access to information & tools that help us to peaceful methods. More than we currently have.
I love this site. I need it. The thought of having it taken away makes me feel physically ill.
But - I hate that there's a but, I don't wanna defend pro-lifers etc. But- I come from a demographic that has a particularly high bus catching success rate. Really abnormally high. I have seen the devastation it can cause. From watching this IRL over & over & over (completely distinct to SaSu land), the people left behind that are hurting (this sounds unkind but isn't, full empathy to everyone), it's not their logical mind that's engaged - it's their inner toddler having a reaction too big for them to cope with, BIG FEELINGS, - they want to point fingers outwards because it's easier than looking inwards. Blame & anger are easier to deal with than self-reflection or guilt or acceptance or grief. And shock makes people crazy too. I truly don't like the idea of ever defending this shit, but if it's human nature that has brought us to need this site, it makes sense to me that human nature makes people want to destroy it.
I can see WHY people feel that way, without agreeing with a single word they say. I dunno if any of that makes sense to other people, sorry...
